Best 2023 Spring Break Road Trips

February 16th, 2023 by

Spring break is less than a month away and we’re ready to hit the road – warmer weather + time off school = the perfect opportunity to find new adventures. However, instead of heading to the most popular (and most crowded) beaches or taking an expensive cruise, why not hit the road in your Clermont Toyota? We’re here to share our top picks for spring break road trips – get ready to hit the highway.

Toyota of Clermont’s top 2023 spring break road trips

The Blue Ridge Parkway through Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia: Looking for something closer to Clermont on the east coast that doesn’t require flying anywhere? Head to Blue Ridge, GA and hop on the Blue Ridge Parkway. You can take it up through North Carolina and Virginia, taking in 500 miles of beautiful forest and mountain scenery. Pop into Asheville, NC to sample craft beers, shop eclectic stores, and visit the Biltmore Estate and then head to Skyline Drive in Virginia, where a 105-mile stretch of road along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains awaits you.

Grand Canyon to Arches National Park: Head west and get away from the crowds. This spring break road trip starts at the Grand Canyon – you’ll head to the North Rim, where it’s quieter. Hike your heart out and then hit the highway north to Utah to visit Arches National Park and its incredible red rock formations. If you have enough time, schedule Canyonlands and Moab onto your itinerary for more unbelievable western scenery.

Texas Hill Country Wildflower Loop: For this spring break road trip, you can call Austin home for a few days and check out the incredible BBQ + music scene while you’re there. From there, take the Wildflower Loop, which is a 90-mile trip through fields of bluebonnets. Texas Hill Country is renowned for its hiking, camping, fishing, and – believe it or not – wineries. Don’t forget your hiking boots!

San Francisco, CA to Mendocino, CA: If you want to get way out of town for spring break, take a road trip along the coast of California – more specifically, from San Francisco north to Mendocino. US Highway 1 provides scenic views reminiscent of Ireland – you’ll literally feel like you’re in another country. Stop along the way to see seals frolicking in harbors, Victorian cottages, and incredible seafood restaurants.

New York, NY to Cape May, NJ: Get out of the city – New York City, that is – and head south to Cape May, NJ. The Garden State Parkway gives you a beautifully scenic route to your final destination that has plenty of beach town pit stops. See where Bruce Springsteen got his start in Asbury, find retro fun in Wildwood, and end up in Cape May for a quaint Victorian seaside experience.

Miami to Key West, FL: Start your spring break road trip in Miami (get that Cuban coffee to fuel up) and head south through the Florida Keys. You’ll traverse 113 miles across 40 trans-ocean bridges for unbeatable scenery. If you like swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, or any water activity – or you just want to chill on a beach – this is the road trip for you. Just book ahead for hotels or Airbnbs, as the region gets busy in general this time of year.
