With all of Toyota’s moves it’s been making lately, it’s no surprise that we’re seeing changes to the finest points of our beloved lineup vehicles. Toyota’s lineup is highly popular and loved, but customers have oft voiced their concerns about a particular touchpoint that’s kinda important. The car infotainment system is the next aspect of Toyota ripe for change and the changes with this one are big! More convenient, more advanced, better. Toyota of Clermont is here to break down the latest info we have on this new Toyota advancement. Let’s dive in!
The Next Generation in Multimedia
The car infotainment system is a cornerstone of the interior of your ride. You need it for music, A/C display, GPS, and a myriad of other things throughout your drive. For a lot of customers and Toyota drivers out there, the current Entune infotainment suite is a little less than clean. Most drivers prefer to plug in their devices (the old school way) and use Android Auto or Apple CarPlay for their infotainment needs.

Instead, Toyota has spent the past few years developing a new and improved form of in-vehicle experience. While this car infotainment system doesn’t have a formal name in the Toyota realm, it’s called the Lexus Interface. Here’s what we know about the Clermont infotainment system so far:
- This new car infotainment system has been designed and developed in North America. The project involved heavy consideration from consumer comments and criticism of the current Clermont infotainment system.
- There will be multiple screen sizes to choose from when it comes to compatibility with this new system. Depending on the Toyota model, the screen can range from 8 to 14-inches.
- For customers, this new system should mirror using a smartphone with ease of access to all apps and functions. Toyota is aiming to compete with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in an effort to keep the in-car-experience cohesive.
- GPS is all new with this new car infotainment system. It can run on 100% cloud capability which makes for faster and more accurate directions.
- Toyota is also introducing a new program with this Clermont infotainment system. It’s called the Human Machine Interface (HMI) and provides a more seamless experience through touch, sight, sound, and voice.
- There’s a new virtual assistant included in the infotainment mix. This program is intended to be the primary way drivers and users interact with the system.
- User Profiles can also be used to customize settings and preferences for multiple specific drivers.
- Digital Key is an additional feature that connects to your smartphone and allows drivers to access key features of their vehicle through an app. It works by connecting via bluetooth when in range of the vehicle.
- Over the Air updates will be used to reduce the need for 3rd party technology and tools. This will create a more seamless process for software development.
