It’s Thanksgiving weekend and that means it’s time to kick back, eat turkey, and enjoy time spent with friends and family. Looking for ways to celebrate Turkey Day? Check out our top picks for celebrating Thanksgiving 2021 in Clermont!

Groveland Turkey Trot 5K and 10K: Burn off calories ahead of time by hitting the road for a 5K or 10K (if you’re really ambitious)! The Groveland Turkey Trot 10K begins at 7:15 am and the 5K begins at 7:30 am at Cherry Lake Park. Proceeds benefit the Faith Neighborhood Center to feed local families and the Friends of Marion Baysinger Library in Groveland. Make room for more sides – lace up your running shoes!
Thanksgiving Grand Brunch Buffet: The Mission Inn Resort and Club is hosting a Grand Brunch Buffet that kicks off at 11 am and runs until 5:45 pm (get ready to fill your plates). They’re known for offering the best brunch in Lake County, so you don’t want to miss out! The menu includes items like prime rib, seasonal soups, a whole station devoted to stuffing, charcuterie, and an assortment of incredible sides AND desserts. And since it’s technically a brunch, you can also get breakfast food like eggs benedict, biscuits and gravy, and more. Make sure you wear your eating pants!
Thanksgiving Food For Families: Want to give back on Thanksgiving? Head over to West Orlando Baptist Church to serve as a volunteer and deliver boxes of food to families in need. The donation drops start at 8 am!
Vernardos Circus: Looking for something to do after you eat that will keep you out of a turkey coma? Vernardos Circus is offering a special Thanksgiving day showing. This world-class animal-free circus features aerialists, magicians, acrobats, jugglers, comedians, and other incredible sights. The show begins at 4 pm.
3rd Annual Pumpkin Ponderosa: Want to get out and experience the fresh air and sunshine? Head over to Showcase of Citrus on Highway 27 in Clermont. The Pumpkin Ponderosa is going on, and you can spend the day enjoying food from local food trucks (who likes turkey that much, anyway?), take a hayride or a monster truck tour, make arts and crafts, and if you’re kid-free, hang out at either of the open-air bars on the property. You can also take a pumpkin home if you want to stretch out the fall season!
However you celebrate, we hope you have the BEST Thanksgiving. Don’t forget – we’re closed on Thanksgiving Day, but we’ll be here bright and early on Black Friday to kick off our Black Friday Weekend Sale. See you then!
