What’s new in Toyota news this week?
2022 Toyota Tundra is officially in production mode
Big news – the 2022 Toyota Tundra is OFFICIALLY in production. In case you’ve been living under a rock for a year, this incredible truck has been redesigned from bumper to bumper, inside and out and even under the hood. That’s why it’s such a big deal that it’s finally headed our way – we’re talking days. The truck is being produced in San Antonio, Texas, and you can actually purchase yours ahead of time by checking out our inventory online or coming in to chat with one of our Clermont Toyota sales specialists.
Toyota shares another GR Corolla teaser
Rumors are flying fast when it comes to the supposed new Toyota GR Corolla that would be available in the US in the next few years, and Toyota is doing nothing to calm them. In fact, Toyota USA released ANOTHER teaser image on its Instagram page. It features the Toyota Corolla Hatchback – at first glance, no big deal, because this car is already in production and sitting on our lot right now. However, if you look more closely, you’ll notice a GR Corolla prototype hidden in the shadows in some camouflaged wrap, as well as notable letters on the red shipping container above the Corolla (NA is for North America, G16 refers to the engine in the current GR Yaris, which is only available overseas). We’re betting that this new Toyota will be officially announced pretty soon… follow Toyota of Clermont for Toyota news updates.
Toyota to go zero emissions for European sales by 2035
Toyota is all about going green (and has been for quite some time). They’re taking things up a notch over in Western Europe; they recently pledged to ensure that ALL of their sales in Western Europe will be zero emissions by the year 2035. Not only that, they stated that half of their global lineup would be zero emissions by 2030. This means if you want to go green for your next car, you’ll have plenty of options. Why not? Have you SEEN the new Toyota bZ4X?
New Arctic Trucks Russia Land Cruiser revealed
We’re already missing the iconic Toyota Land Cruiser. Although this much-loved SUV was a luxury vehicle, it also possessed major off-roading capabilities that made it truly one of a kind. While it’s discontinued here in the US, it’s still up for grabs overseas (in fact, a new 200 Series was just unveiled). Arctic Truck Russian got their hands on one and modified it for taking on tough Russian winters (think snow – lots of it). This new Toyota boasts a reinforced suspension system with new dampers and shocks, a wider wheel track, and redesigned wheel arches for greater clearance, to name a few. All in all, it’s a superior testament to off-roading ability in bad weather.
