Is a new batch of EV Toyota trucks coming?

Big news in the world of electric vehicles - Toyota recently announced in a a Battery EV Strategies meeting that two new electric Toyota concepts were in the works. Get ready to meet the all-new Toyota Tacoma EV and Compact Cruiser EV. What are the new Toyota Tacoma EV and Compact Cruiser EV? The truck world is a pretty great place to be already; the new 2022 Toyota Tundra has started to arrive at dealerships across the country and brings with it a completely new design as well as brand-new hybrid technology under the hood. However, things just got a little sweeter with these two new concepts. We all know that Toyota has pledged to put more hybrid and EV vehicles in its lineup so it can reduce its carbon footprint; in fact, by 2030, the company hopes to have at least half of its vehicles available in green variations. That's why while these concepts are just that - concepts - it doesn't seem too farfetched to say that they could one day actually become production cars.   So what would they have to offer if they did actually go into prodiction? Here's what our Clermont Toyota dealership was able to glean from the details that were released by Toyota. The Clermont Toyota Tacoma is due for a refresh - we're all very well aware of that. And it's been suggested that 2023 is THE year for it and that a whole new generation of this much-loved truck will emerge, just like the Toyota Tundra in 2022 (remember, Toyota kicked the V8 engine in this car to the curb and replaced it with hybrid and turbocharged V6 options). Therefore, it stands to reason that the next generation of the Toyota Tacoma could very well offer an EV model. Plus, have you seen the concept? It looks very much like a Tacoma (although some are speculating that it could be a bit bigger in size, landing somewhere in between the current Toyota Tacoma and the Toyota Tundra). But honestly, if you swapped the grille for something a bit more tradition, you'd think you were looking at a Tacoma. And let's not forget the performance benefits of an electric vehicle... instant torque and horsepower for majorly enhanced capabilities. What about the Compact Cruiser EV? Looking at this concept Toyota takes us back to the early 2010s when the Toyota FJ Cruiser was still in production and life was good. It's eerily reminiscent of that popular off-roading icon, although it also shares elements with the Toyota FT-4X concept that was released back in 2017. And here's why we think this concept could become a real "thing". First, the Toyota Land Cruiser was retired from the US market this year, leaving a hole in the off-roading lineup. Second, Toyota needs something to compete against the new Ford Bronco and this compact SUV would definitely fit the bill. Get the latest Toyota news from Toyota of Clermont So, will we see these two new Toyota EV concepts in our stores anytime soon? Fingers crossed, but follow us on social media for updates. What's new in Toyota news this week? 2022 Toyota Tundra is officially in production mode Big news - the 2022 Toyota Tundra is OFFICIALLY in production. In case you've been living under a rock for a year, this incredible truck has been redesigned from bumper to bumper, inside and out and even under the hood. That's why it's such a big deal that it's finally headed our way - we're talking days. The truck is being produced in San Antonio, Texas, and you can actually purchase yours ahead of time by checking out our inventory online or coming in to chat with one of our Clermont Toyota sales specialists. Toyota shares another GR Corolla teaser Rumors are flying fast when it comes to the supposed new Toyota GR Corolla that would be available in the US in the next few years, and Toyota is doing nothing to calm them. In fact, Toyota USA released ANOTHER teaser image on its Instagram page. It features the Toyota Corolla Hatchback - at first glance, no big deal, because this car is already in production and sitting on our lot right now. However, if you look more closely, you'll notice a GR Corolla prototype hidden in the shadows in some camouflaged wrap, as well as notable letters on the red shipping container above the Corolla (NA is for North America, G16 refers to the engine in the current GR Yaris, which is only available overseas). We're betting that this new Toyota will be officially announced pretty soon... follow Toyota of Clermont for Toyota news updates. Toyota to go zero emissions for European sales by 2035 Toyota is all about going green (and has been for quite some time). They're taking things up a notch over in Western Europe; they recently pledged to ensure that ALL of their sales in Western Europe will be zero emissions by the year 2035. Not only that, they stated that half of their global lineup would be zero emissions by 2030. This means if you want to go green for your next car, you'll have plenty of options. Why not? Have you SEEN the new Toyota bZ4X? New Arctic Trucks Russia Land Cruiser revealed We're already missing the iconic Toyota Land Cruiser. Although this much-loved SUV was a luxury vehicle, it also possessed major off-roading capabilities that made it truly one of a kind. While it's discontinued here in the US, it's still up for grabs overseas (in fact, a new 200 Series was just unveiled). Arctic Truck Russian got their hands on one and modified it for taking on tough Russian winters (think snow - lots of it). This new Toyota boasts a reinforced suspension system with new dampers and shocks, a wider wheel track, and redesigned wheel arches for greater clearance, to name a few. All in all, it's a superior testament to off-roading ability in bad weather. What's new in Toyota news for December?

Thanksgiving is over, which means December is upon us. Toyota of Clermont has the latest news for all things Toyota - check out highlights for this week, including Toyota Tundra pricing, a new GR Corolla teaser, reliability ratings from Consumer Reports, and more. We've got the details you need! New 2022 Toyota GR Corolla teased on Instagram We're all for the rumor mill (at least when it's something good). And Toyota USA did its best to keep that rumor mill going this weekend when they posted a secret teaser for the *supposed* upcoming 2022 Toyota GR Corolla. See, people have been speculating that a new Corolla hot hatch is headed to the US (these are the same people that were livid when the GR Yaris didn't make it stateside). Toyota USA posted a pic of the Toyota Corolla Hatchback inside and put some I-Spy details in there that people were soon reading into. Here are the hints we gleaned: #1: The clock on the gauge cluster reads G:16, which refers to the G16E-GTS turbocharged engine that's in the GR Yaris (currently available in Europe, much to our chagrin). #2: The road on the navigation is GR Four Road, which refers to the all-wheel-drive system found in the GR Yaris, along with the Torsen limited-slip differential in the front and rear AND the electronically-controlled center differential. #3: The climate control feature rears 268, which is the amount of horsepower that the aforementioned turbocharged Yaris engine puts out. #4: And if you look in the very far corner, you can see a camouflaged GR Corolla on the road. And here's the image so you can see for yourself: It's coming - we're calling it. Toyota Tundra pricing finally announced The new 2022 Toyota Tundra is coming soon - like, in a few weeks - and pricing has finally been announced for this much-anticipated truck. The starting MSRP for the base SR model is $44,990, and the truck will be available in 23 different configurations. Follow us on social media for updates OR pre-order your 2022 Toyota Tundra now on our website! Toyota Tundra to whip Ford F-150 in resale value Everyone knows that the new 2022 Toyota Tundra is going to be amazing. It's been completely redesigned inside and out - even under the hood is all-new. We know it's going to absolutely blow the competition out of the water, but we're not the only ones that think so. So far, J.D. Power is predicting that it will far surpass the Ford F-150 (one of its main competitors) in terms of resale value, and CarsDirect is predicting that its residual value in a lease will also be the best. In layman's terms? You're getting your money's worth and making a solid investment if you take home this Clermont Toyota truck. Toyotas top list of 2021's most reliable cars Consumer Reports just put out their annual list of the most reliable cars, and Toyotas dominated it for 2021. The Toyota Highlander, Toyota Prius, and Toyota Prius Prime took spots 8, 4, and 3, respectively. We're not surprised... we're just surprised the ENTIRE list wasn't composed of Toyotas. Have questions or want updates on the new Toyota Tundra or Toyota GR Corolla? Call us today - Toyota of Clermont is open seven days a week at (352) 404-7000!

Electric car enthusiasts, get ready - the all-new 2023 Toyota bZ4X has finally been revealed! We've been following this alternative fuel vehicle since its concept stage and are beyond excited to welcome it to our inventory sometime next year. Toyota of Clermont has the details - get ready to get behind the wheel of the 2023 Toyota bZ4X. What will the new Toyota bZ4X have to offer? First, let's talk about performance since that's the aspect of this new Toyota that really sets it apart from all of the other cars in the lineup. The Toyota bZ4X is going to be all-electric - that means it runs on battery power alone, can be charged, is zero emissions (bZ stands for Beyond Zero), and gets an estimated 250 miles range on one charge. Additionally, it's compatible with high-output charging and can charge up to 80% in just one hour. Here are a couple of other cool facts about this Clermont Toyota: It's built on the new e-TNGA platform developed specifically for this vehicle and sports a flat lithium-ion battery that's been placed under the floor. This design allows for a lower center of gravity, which we all know means better handling. The accelerator has been redesigned for smoother and more responsive acceleration and deceleration, and the throttle has been change to an intelligent throttle for superior handling on slippery roads. A new All-Wheel-Drive system with X-MODE has been integrated into performance for the best of the best when it comes to safety. The battery is designed to have capacity retention of 90% after 10 years of ownership. What about technology? It stands to reason that this all-new electric Toyota would have the best of the best when it comes to tech. Here are some highlights we can expect from the 2023 Toyota bZ4X: It'll be the first Toyota ever to offer Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. This new suite of safety features has additions like Guardrail Detection, Low Light Cyclist Detection, Motorcyclist Detection, and improved millimeter-wave radar. Software updates will be handled wirelessly - this means you can update your Toyota Safety Sense System and your multimedia system Over-The-Air and keep performance and quality up to speed. Navigation pulls real-time information directly from the cloud, keeping you up-to-the-minute with traffic, parking, and more And design... you have to expect cutting-edge design from such a cutting-edge car. The 2023 Toyota Bz4X is aerodynamic and as sleep as it gets on the exterior, showcasing a trapezoidal theme and super-sporty accents across the board. A new curved bumper, enhanced LED lighting, and cool new paint colors make it one-of-a-kind. Additionally, the interior of the 2023 Toyota bZ4X is decked out with premium materials and an ergonomic design to make the cabin seem both spacious and convenient at the same time. New Toyota News: What you should know for the week of November 15, 2021

Another week, another round of news updates! This week we're talking a lot about performance cars - here's looking at you, Supra - and we've also got the scoop on a new Clermont Toyota RAV4 model headed our way. See what's new in the world of Toyota news! What you should know about Toyota news this week Is a GR Corolla headed to the US? We were super excited to see the iconic GR Yaris put into production a ways back and also super bummed to hear that it wouldn't be making its way stateside anytime soon (Europe, we hope you realize how lucky you are). However, the rumor mill is buzzing and we're hearing that an all-new Toyota GR Corolla is headed into production and would be available in the US. It would supposedly have the same turbocharged 1.6L 3-cylinder engine as the GR Yaris, which translates to 295 horsepower. Further,  it would be arriving sometime in the first half of next year. We're keeping our fingers crossed! Will we see a new manual Toyota Supra next year? When the Toyota GR Supra was brought back onto the market, everyone was pumped. However, there were a handful of drivers who were rather bummed that it only came in an automatic transmission. Well, another rumor is floating around out there that this Clermont Toyota is headed to market in 2023 with a manual transmission option. This rumor isn't far-fetched - the car shares a platform with the BMW Z5, and that car offers a manual option. Here's to hoping! Toyota RAV4 Hybrid introduces SE trim-level RAV4 drivers, rejoice! An all-new trim-level is coming to the hybrid lineup for this much-loved SUV. Previously, drivers could only snag the XSE model in the RAV4 Hybrid if they wanted something supremely sporty. Toyota is now adding an SE trim to give a more affordable - but still supremely sporty - option to drivers. It'll include a 7" touchscreen audio interface and tons of new packages, including a weather package for cold weather and a convenience package for added tech. Toyota GR Supra Funny Car that gets 300 horsepower unveiled Toyota just introduced a new Funny Car (drag racing car) to the market to compete in the NHRA circuit next year - an all-new Toyota GR Supra. Since 2012, they've been putting a Toyota Camry Funny Car in the ring to compete and it's done well, but they're taking things up a notch in 2022 with the iconic Toyota Supra. The car will be commandeered by J.R. Todd (2018 NHRA Champion) and Alexis DeJoria (a former U.S. Nationals Winner). It should hit the track for its big debut next February at the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals Race Weekend, and we can't wait to see how they transform the Toyota Supra into a Funny Car - they're usually a lot wider and longer than production cars, so it should be interesting. Tacoma camper concept

Seven new Toyota concepts revealed for SEMA 2021

Here at Toyota of Clermont, we get pretty excited about SEMA every year. New Toyota concepts are always rolled out for this enormous automotive show, and if there's anything we love, it's new Toyotas (especially ones that think outside of the box). This year definitely didn't disappoint as seven new Toyota concepts were unveiled, and our Clermont Toyota dealership has the details on each of them. Keep reading! #1: The "Tacozilla" Toyota Tacoma Camper: We've talked about this incredible concept camper before - at length. They should produce it. Period. #2: A souped-up 2022 Toyota Tundra: We're all eagerly awaiting the arrival of the 2022 Toyota Tundra (follow us on social for updates and we'll keep you posted on the ETA). Toyota debuted a lifted and decked out model at SEMA this year - it has a 3" lift and is sporting some of the 100+ accessories that will be available when this redesigned truck hits the market. #3: A 2022 Toyota Tacoma Overlanding Concept: If you're a fan of overlanding, you're going to love this new Toyota concept. Cruiser Outfitters and Toyota collaborated on this Tacoma to dream up a truck that's truly ready for anything. It offers features like an ARB summit combo bar with fog lights, an Ultra HD skid plate system, rock sliders, rocker protection, and an Old Man Emu BP-51 adjustable suspension system with Dakar leaf springs in the rear. #4: A 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Desert Chase: This off-road support vehicle can take on the toughest terrain with ease. It was built by the Toyota Motorsports Garage Team and offers a new wide-body kit, a custom roll-bar with two spare tires mounted on it, a custom-mounted road jack, a long-travel suspension system, and other recovery equipment necessary for desert rescue. #5: A TRD Sport Trailer: If the new "Tacozilla" camper is a little much for you, consider this new Toyota concept trailer. The TRD Sport Trailer is constructed from a Tacoma pickup bed and boasts features like a scissor lift and an elevated platform, a Yakima four-person tent, a slide-out sink, a fridge,  a hot water heater, fresh and gray water tanks, a stove, and additional lighting for the campsite. #6: The GR Supra Heritage Edition: This Toyota concept has actually been unveiled once before, but it was to such fanfare that Toyota brought it back to SEMA for another go around. This GR Supra is retro-inspired with headlights, taillights, and a rear wing spoiler that hail back to the 1990s when it was in its heyday. It also boasts 500+ horsepower thanks to a retuned engine and a turbocharger, bigger brakes, a custom push-rod rear suspension, and bigger wheels and tires. #7: An open-top GR Supra Concept: This open-top new Toyota concept car is a feat of engineering. You can remove the top and stick it in the trunk to stow it, but there's no crossbar obstructing the view above. Instead, you'll see nothing but open air as engineers carefully designed this concept for structural ridigity and safety. We don't which - if any - of these new Toyota concepts will arrive at Toyota of Clermont (besides the 2022 Toyota Tundra - stay tuned). But we'll keep you posted! Call us for details at (352) 404-7000 or stop by and see us at 16851 State Road 50, just west of the Florida Turnpike.

New Toyota MR2 in Clermont.

More Toyota MR2 Rumors. Quit Playing, People

Listen fam, here at Toyota of Clermont we like to keep things newsworthy and professional. But, that doesn't mean we won't dabble in the occasional internet rumor or two. After all, oftentimes they aren't entirely off base or wrong for that matter. Take the Tundra rumors, for example. Rumors had been circulating for months about the hybrid twin-turbo V6 drivetrain and that's exactly what we got. Not to say you should believe every single rumor out there, but some of them do, in fact, hold water. Now, this latest rumor, we're not so sure. As you probably well know, there have been countless rumors surrounding the possibility of a Toyota MR2 return. Akio Toyoda is quoted wanting to turn the 86 and Supra duo into a triumvirate of sportscars and a third model has yet to be determined. A new slew of rumors seems to suggest that a new MR2 is closer than we think. Or is it? Follow along with us at Toyota of Clermont for more details right here. But, Seriously. A New Toyota MR2 Would be Sick If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. It's with that sentiment that we should approach these rumors. Truly, a new Clermont Toyota MR2 would be enough to make any one of us jump for joy. But, like we said, too good to be true. But, before we draw conclusions, let's look at what we know so far and add this new rumor. So far, we know: Toyota is aiming to have three mainstay sports models on its lineup. The MR2 is a popular nameplate for Toyota and a likely candidate for the position. Its unique mid-engine design is ripe for experimentation. Toyota made headlines with its future BEV plan. However, they only announced the bZ4X as a current production model. It's possible that a Clermont Toyota MR2 BEV could be in the works. It'd be one hell of a way to expand the EV lineup. Now, for the current rumors. They come from a Japanese website called Spyder7 that publishes pieces related to automotive news. Here's what the piece discusses: A large component of this piece is that the new Clermont Toyota MR2 could be a collaboration vehicle. This is fairly sound given the fact that Toyota's only other 2 sports models are both collaboration projects. The 86 with Subaru and the Supra with BMW. However, the piece claims that the partnership candidates are Lotus and Porsche. While it sounds ridiculous on its face, let's think for a moment why Toyota would want to partner with these 2 companies. Not only are they acclaimed sportscar manufacturers, but they also specialize in mid-engine vehicle architecture. Toyota partnered with BMW for the Supra because of their expertise with inline 6 engines, why wouldn't they partner with modern craftspeople to more accurately revive the MR2? The piece, while sounding a little too specific, also levels that the new Clermont Toyota MR2 will use plug-in hybrid technology mated to a 2.8 or 3.0-liter V6. Allegedly, the new MR2 will look similar to a 2004 Geneva Motor Show concept called the Toyota Alessandro Volta. All in all, these rumors could be totally bogus. But, don't count it out just yet. Toyota works in mysterious ways and you never know. Thanks for tagging along with us at Toyota of Clermont for this new Toyota MR2 news. See you next time!

New Toyota Mirai in Clermont.

The Toyota Mirai and an 845-Mile World Record

It's a well-known fact that Toyota stays breaking and making records. Sounds a little presumptuous and conceited, but you've gotta own it when you can. The Land Cruiser has climbed the unclimbable, the Camry continues to take trophies in road races, and the Supra is a cemented icon in the halls of history. But, naturally, we couldn't just stop there and be content with what we've achieved so far. It seemed only fitting that the Toyota Mirai, already being one of the world's first produced hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, should make its mark on the world by means other than engineering and specs. The Mirai is in its second generation currently and it just earned a world record for an incredible feat. We have the latest on this story and more about the Mirai at Toyota of Clermont. Follow along with us! A World Record for the Toyota Mirai As we said, the Mirai has already garnered an impressive accolade of being one of the first mass-production hydrogen fuel cell vehicles out there. Unfortunately, it's not widely available in the Clermont area yet, but we can't wait for it to be. Especially hearing this news, we're ecstatic. The Mirai accomplished something an ICE engine could only dream of. It drove 845 miles. Without a single refueling along the way. We know. Impressive. Here's some more info on this amazing story: The Clermont Toyota Mirai was piloted by 2 people, Wayne Gerdes and Bob Winger, over the course of 2 days in an official attempt. This was not an amateur attempt to break a world record, this was an all-in attempt by pros. Their journey began at the Toyota Technical Center in California and the pair managed to log 473 miles in a single day. The next day they returned to the Technical Center and logged an additional 372 miles for a total of 845. About 5.65 kilograms (12.45 pounds) of fuel was consumed during the journey and there was never a need to refuel even though 12 fueling stations were passed along the way. Such an impressive feat for an impressive ride. The Mirai now has a Guinness World Record to add to its ongoing accolades and it's just getting started. A Deeper Look at the Record-Breaking Toyota Mirai The Clermont Mirai is one of the only mass-produced hydrogen fuel cell vehicles on the road. Because of the currently limited fueling infrastructure, Toyota only sells the Mirai in California where there is a substantial number of hydrogen fueling stations. Here are some quick facts about this awesome ride: The Mirai gets an estimated 74 combined MPGe and has an estimated range of 402 miles. As to how 845 was achieved without any refueling, that definitely warrants some digging. Zero emissions are emitted from the vehicle as it uses hydrogen fuel cells for power. Refueling only takes about 5 minutes from an empty to full tank and Toyota is even offering a $15,000 free fuel incentive to new Mirai drivers. It's technologically advanced and now is sporting incredible style. Pretty cool, right? For more info on the Toyota Mirai and the latest Toyota news, keep it here with Toyota of Clermont! The upcoming Clermont Toyota Tundra will be featuring a bit of electrification with its hybrid drivetrain. While that's revolutionary for Toyota and the pickup truck segment, we can't forget that Toyota is going all the way in the EV game. It's not new Toyota news that the bZ4X is coming soon, but we're sure you might need a refresher. This battery-powered EV is slated to arrive by the middle of next year to North America and a fully loaded EV roll-out plan is scheduled to happen between now and 2025. The Fabled Hot Hatch is Real and Coming Soon This one's definitely been lost in the shuffle, but we haven't forgotten. After North America was left with a mad case of envy in the wake of the GR Yaris announcement, Toyota unveiled some exciting news that a Hot Hatch was coming to the North American market soon. Unfortunately, this Toyota news didn't state specifically when this hatchback was coming to market, which model it would be based on, and the specs we should anticipate. Fortunately, we can fill in the blanks a bit here. For starters, it's likely that this Clermont hot hatch will be based on the Corolla Hatchback as it's the only hatchback left in North America. It will also likely c0ntain the same 3-cylinder powerhouse as the GR Yaris. As for finer details and when we can expect more info, we're in the same boat as you.
