Today, this company manufacturers some of the most reliable and beloved vehicles on the road today and has a reach that expands the globe. Being such a large scale company, it's easy to lose track of what Toyota operates and has a stake in. Luckily, as some of Toyota's biggest fans, Toyota of Clermont is here with a quick guide on current Toyota subsidiaries and partnerships so you can feel like an insider to one of the world's largest auto manufacturers! Toyota's Subsidiaries Hino Motors You've likely not heard of this company, but you may have seen their truck, heard their engines, or maybe even ridden on their buses. Hino Motors specializes in manufacturing working vehicles like trucks and diesel engines to help truck drivers and other businesses move items. These medium duty trucks are engineered to last and do whatever you need, whether that be towing, recovery, delivery, and so on. Hino also manufactures passenger buses in several countries in addition to their trucks. This Toyota subsidiary also hybrid technology in several of their truck models. Ranz Developed in 2013, Ranz is a Toyota subsidiary that specializes in the development of electric vehicles. This subsidiary was showcased at Shanghai Auto Show in 2013 and has since been pivotal in introducing an EV offshoot of the Toyota Corolla to the Chinese market. This company's portfolio is small, but we have a feeling it will expand soon with the growing popularity of Clermont Toyota electric vehicles. Lexus When it comes to luxury, no one does it better than Lexus. As a Toyota subsidiary, Lexus represents the more luxurious models produced by Toyota. Beginning with the Flagship 1 (F1) in the 1980s. Since then, Lexus has been the name behind some of the most stylish and well engineered vehicles on the road. Daihatsu As an independent auto manufacturer, Daihatsu has been around since 1951. It was fully absorbed as a Toyota subsidiary in 2016. Daihatsu manufactured a variety of compact vehicles and bikes for European and Asian countries. By 1969, the company had produced two million vehicles. Toyota's Partnerships Subaru The Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ look very similar. That's because Toyota and Subaru are partnering companies that collaborate on vehicle builds every now and then. In fact, Toyota just recently purchased a larger stake in Subaru, totaling to 16.6%. Its rumored that a new generation Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ is on the way and future projects may come about from this partnership. Isuzu While you don't see many Isuzu dedicated vehicles on the road anymore, you've likely seen some vehicles with their Clermont Toyota diesel engine in them. In fact, Isuzu supplies diesel engines for brands like GM. Mazda Toyota also owns a partial stake in Mazda. This Japanese based auto manufacturer responsible for manufacturing the Wankel rotary engine along with other iconic vehicles throughout its company history. Their current agreement with Toyota involves the exchange of fuel-efficient SkyActiv Clermont Toyota engines for hydrogen fuel cell technology. Cool Things to Come Out of the Tokyo Motor Show Toyota Robots It's not a car, but it's an amazing demonstration of Toyota's advancing AI system. The Toyota T-HR3, the Micro Palette, and the e-Palette are all examples of Toyota's ongoing effort to introduce AI based devices like robots, small delivery vehicles, and people movers to enhance human mobility. Several of these devices will be used and displayed during the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics to help people commute around the Olympic village. Electric Vehicles Galore The world and the automotive industry are moving toward alternative fuel sources to combat the climate crisis while still providing more cost-effective and clean ways of moving people. Toyota has introduced an entirely new second generation Toyota Mirai (which uses hydrogen as its sole fuel source), but electric vehicles are become very popular among drivers. For the Tokyo Motor Show, Toyota has displayed several concepts including the Clermont Toyota e-Trans and the e-Racer. The e-Trans is a concept of a multi-passenger autonomous vehicle based around electrified engineering. The e-Racer uses a similar concept with batteries as its primary fuel source. The Vehicle that Knows You After alternative fuel and vehicle autonomy comes active machine learning and AI based tools to make your vehicle more aware of you. From this thought comes the Clermont Toyota LQ with AI program "Yui." This ultra-futuristic ride uses an AI program that learns about the driver to assist with driving and make every commute different. This vehicle will learn your ideal air temperature, music volume, cruising speed, how alert you are, and more to tailor the driving experience to the driver. Auto Show next month. Who Doesn't Love a Cute Convertible? Toyota is one auto brand that has a very diverse lineup and a new addition just recently is the cutest convertible you never knew you needed. In a collaboration between Daihatsu (one of Toyota's subsidiary companies) and Toyota Gazoo Racing comes the Toyota Copen GR Sport. This mighty might of a convertible is designed as a kei car (a vehicle designed to have a small body and engine) and will only be available in Japan. It will feature a 3-cylinder engine that outputs about 63 horsepower and 68 lb/ft of torque. More Compact Clermont Toyotas are on the way Compact Toyota vehicles have been making new Toyota news headlines as of late and this one is definitely note-worthy. During the Tokyo Auto Show next month, Toyota will also be showcasing a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) aimed at the elderly population of Japan. It's designed for short commutes within the city with a max speed of 37 mph and a driving range of 62 miles. Toyota has also discussed the potential of creating other versions of this vehicle such as one that could double as a mobile office. The new Toyota 4Runner Venture Edition includes a Yakima Megawarrior roof rack system and is built on the TRD Pro trim level. 3) A New Toyota 86 is Racing to Toyota of Clermont Maybe not racing, but it's definitely coming soon! In a continued partnership with Subaru, Toyota will bring back the Toyota 86 in a future model year and Subaru will produce the twin BRZ. It's unknown when this vehicle will be coming, but the continued partnership with Subaru means big things are coming. Toyota recently increased their shares in Subaru from 16.83% to 20% to solidify their partnership and Subaru will now be branded as an "associated company of Toyota." Ah, spooky season is upon us. You know what that means...costumes, candy, and SCARES. Plus, Clermont TRD Toyota drivers can take advantage of unique TRD shock absorbers to help control vehicle vertical and roll movements. The interior upholstery is taken to a sporty new level with black sport SofTex trim, red seatbelts, and Toyota TRD logo embossing. Toyota TRD Avalon Details The Toyota Avalon has been reimagined for the current model generation in the vein of a true sports-sedan. This isn't the Avalon of yesteryear and the Toyota TRD edition truly brings that sentiment home. Here's what you can expect to see on this edition: Just like the Clermont Toyota Camry TRD edition, the Avalon will also be getting a new set of shoes. Specifically, 19 x 8.5-inch matte-black alloy wheels with Michelin all-weather tires. This reduces the unsprung mass of the wheels and tires by 18 pounds. Toyota TRD stainless steel exhaust tips. Interior touches including black sport SofTex-trimmed heated front seats and TRD logo embossing on headrests and other touch points. Paint color options for this trim level include Supersonic Red, Windchill Pearl, Celestial Silver Metallic, and Midnight Black Metallic. The Tokyo Motor Show has been hosted in Japan biennially since 1954. Each year the show hosts a variety of automakers, but namely Japanese makes like Toyota, Honda, and Subaru (to name a few). These companies, along with many other makes, showcase the latest technology and vehicles they've been working on. In recent years, due to international energy crises, the shows have been focused on renewable energy and vehicle driving autonomy. During the last show, held in 2017, Toyota unveiled several concepts, including the Clermont Toyota TJ Cruiser, the FT-4X, and a Toyota Crown Concept. What's Expected Ahead of This Year's Tokyo Motor Show? While the upcoming motor show is only a short time away, much of what's expected to be showcased this year can only be speculated. But, because of recent news and different auto industry experts' published information, we have a fairly good idea of what to expect. Here are a few things you might see at the Tokyo Motor Show in October: A first look at the GRMN Toyota Supra. While the 2020 Toyota GR Supra just recently made it to our lot here at Toyota of Clermont, an even more performance-heavy version is expected to be released by Toyota within the next model year or two. This model is expected to come equipped with greater horsepower, more performance-specific suspension, and a lighter body. A new Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ. Toyota's chief engineer of the new GR Supra has repeatedly stated that there are plans to keep their performance vehicle line a trio. While we're not sure of the third vehicle in this sub line-up, the Clermont Toyota 86 is next in line behind the Supra. It's rumored that a new Toyota 86, built on a new platform and featuring some modified engineering, will be arriving soon. It's likely this vehicle will still be a collaborative effort with Subaru. More info on the possibly upcoming Toyota TJ Cruiser. The "spiritual successor" to the Toyota TJ Cruiser might get some additional information during the Tokyo Motor Show, as it has been recently rumored to have gone into production. We might also see info about the FT-4X as well. What is the new Toyota TJ Cruiser? In short, the new Clermont Toyota TJ Cruiser is part SUV part minivan. The concept was originally unveiled at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show and featured a boxy design with a 4-seat interior design. The futuristic design also featured an engine compartment that opened in the opposite direction from almost all other production Toyota vehicles (think reverse style, like a semi-truck). Plus, the interior features a completely fold-down passenger seat for maximum cargo space. The front doors open like a typical vehicle and the two backseat doors slide open like a minivan. The Clermont Toyota TJ Cruiser, while some call it the spiritual successor to the FJ Cruiser, will use a hybrid power-train similar to that of the Toyota Prius or Corolla hybrid. The 1.8-liter hybrid power-train and the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine specs are heavily rumored to be options for this new vehicle. While the concept only featured seating for up to five, the general consensus is that it will likely come with an optional third row in some models. How are automotive journalists so certain that the new Toyota TJ Cruiser will be heading to production soon? An article obtained from a Japanese vehicle journalism site claims that Toyota has decided to unveil a production model of this vehicle in October of this year at the Tokyo Motor Show to then be sold in December. While there's no confirmation of this vehicle's arrival in the North American markets, the vehicle will be built on the TNGA platform (on which many production Toyotas are built) so we can't rule out the possibility for certain. One thing's for sure, a vehicle as versatile, fuel-efficient, and stylish as this will be welcomed warmly at Toyota of Clermont! Follow along with us and check out the latest stories from our favorite auto manufacturer. 1) 2021 Toyota Sienna Spotted Being Tested Amidst several rumors suggesting that the Toyota Sienna was facing a slow and eventual death, a camouflaged 2021 new Toyota Sienna was spotted being tested out in Death Valley, CA. The current Sienna generation has been around since 2010 and it's high-time we saw a redesign of this beloved mini-van. While we can't discern too much from the spy photos, we can assume that the exterior will see a significant redesign and the interior will likely include new features as well. It will still be front-wheel drive (with the possibility of all-wheel drive option) and there might be a hybrid-option. We can expect to see this new Toyota mini-van arrive at Toyota of Clermont sometime next year. 2) The 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser Heritage Edition Has Received a Price A short time ago, Toyota announced the release of the Clermont new Toyota Land Cruiser Heritage Edition. This new limited trim level of the iconic Land Cruiser features things like unique badging, bronze wheels, and the removal of third row seating. When initially released this new ride did not include pricing, but now we know. The Heritage Edition is set to be released with an MSRP of $86,710 as opposed to the assumed $90,000 price tag. 3) The Toyota Crosscamp Road-trippers rejoice! Toyota of Germany has introduced the new Crosscamp modular van. The interior features a sizable living space with a built-in kitchen and sleeping area. There's also an extendable roof and retractable exterior awning. Unfortunately, this one's only available in Germany but it's nice to know something so cool and campy is out there. 4) The 2020 Toyota Supra has Already Been Overclocked Now that the new Toyota Supra has been making its way to Toyota dealerships (it's available now at Toyota of Clermont, in case you haven't seen that infamous burn-out video), it was only a matter of time before people modified this new rendition of a classic. While the Clermont new Toyota Supra's engine clocks in at about 335 horsepower stock, a UK based tuner has upped the ante and as taken the Supra up to 420 horsepower. While the engineering has been tinkered with for more horsepower, there are other potential modifications on the way. 5) 2020 Toyota 86 Hakone Edition Updates The Clermont new Toyota 86 is an awesome sportscar with a need for speed. But, if you're looking for something with a little more aesthetic, the Hakone Edition will be available soon and for only a $2,975 price increase from the $27,850 MSRP. What's New with Toyota Technology A Solar-Powered Prius The Clermont Toyota Prius made waves as the first-ever hybrid to ever take to the roads. Today, this iconic vehicle has seen a number of feature and technology updates. The newest addition to this timeless hybrid is solar-power tech. In a partnership with Sharp, Toyota has outfitted a Prius Prime plug-in hybrid with 0.03mm thick solar panels. These panels have been affixed to surfaces like the hood, roof, rear windshield, and trunk lid. This new Toyota technology was used in 2016 in a Japan-only release Prius PHV but has since improved and can score the Prius Prime an extra 27 miles on its range. Plus, the solar cells can charge the vehicle as you drive. A Toyota MR2 EV With the return of the Toyota Supra and all its glory, Toyota is poised to release a new rendition on an old-favorite. Many experts speculate that the Clermont Toyota MR2 is due for a return and we're thinking it may be released with EV Toyota technology. There aren't many details surrounding this rumor, it's only speculation at this point. But we're pretty confident in this prediction and believe that EV Toyota technology will have advanced well enough in a few years to make a fully-electric MR2 feasible. We expect it to be released by or after 2024 for about the same price point as the new Supra. A new Hot-Hatch Toyota Yaris Who doesn't love a good hatchback? The Corolla Hatchback has been a hit so far this year and we may be seeing an all-new take on the Clermont Toyota Yaris sooner than we think. The Toyota Yaris Hot-Hatch could make its way to North America for the next model year or two. The new model is likely based on the Yaris GRMN, a Toyota Gazoo Racing design, and will feature both a performance and hybrid option. This new piece of Clermont Toyota technology will likely be available overseas and possibly the U.S. depending on demand. New Toyota Tundra Spotted Photographers recently spotted a camouflaged Toyota Tundra! While it's difficult to discern the finer details of this new truck, we can see a new front bumper design. Rumors are that the new Clermont Toyota Tundra will feature a new hybrid electric drivetrain and achieve close to 450 horsepower with a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine. It's likely this new Tundra will be released for the 2020 or 2021 model year. Needless to say, we're excited to see this new Toyota technology make its way to Toyota of Clermont. Every year, DreamCatcher cares for horses who need veterinary care, food, a home, and most importantly - love! These amazing animals learn how to grow and function like any other horse and the care team at DreamCatcher works every single day to help these horses trust humans again. Not only does the DreamCatcher team work really hard to take care of their amazing horses, they also strive to create awareness within the local Clermont community. To achieve this goal, the rescue remains open 7 days a week and offers various programs and fun activities that resonate with all ages. The Clermont rescue is also open to the public for educational and family programs that get you up close and personal with some of DreamCatchers’ favorite four-legged friends!
