Clermont Toyota Mirai for sale

The New Toyota Mirai is Coming Soon!

It's been a while since we revealed the second generation Toyota Mirai to you, our readers, so you might be wondering how things are shaping up for this amazing and stylish new alternative fuel vehicle? When it is releasing? Will it be available at Toyota of Clermont? What are the final draft features it will have available? Luckily, we have the latest scoop on this new hydrogen fuel cell vehicle right here so read on for more! The Next Generation Toyota Mirai is Almost Here! The second generation Toyota Mirai was revealed several months ago much to everyone's surprise and astonishment. Having undergone a complete style rework, the Mirai no longer looks like a Prius that runs on hydrogen-based fuel. No, this Clermont Toyota alternative fuel vehicle stands on its own and does so in the most impressive of ways. However, most people might have forgotten about this amazing bit of news with several Toyota news events and a global pandemic happening since then. The Toyota Mirai is still a bit of an odd-duck as it's primarily available on the west coast and there's not much infrastructure in Clermont to accommodate its fueling needs. That might all change with the release of the second generation model. Recently, the second generation Toyota Mirai was spotted on practical road tests (in camouflage of course). According to the photos we've seen here at Toyota of Clermont, the Mirai is going to be staying true to its initial designs from the reveal events from last year. With odes to the Camry and Avalon, smoother lines, a lower stance, and premium RWD TNGA platform, this new ride is ready to perform. The new Toyota Mirai will also include updated interior features like: A leather-trimmed interior Qi-wireless charging for your smartphone and other compatible devices A larger touch-screen infotainment interface A 14-speaker JBL sound system And digital instrumentation. While we're impressed with the interior feature upgrades of the new Clermont Toyota Mirai, the performance features are what's really getting us excited. While the previous iteration of the Mirai managed an impressive 312-mile range on a full tank of hydrogen fuel, the new generation can achieve 400 miles on a tank. The new Mirai is also equipped with rear-wheel drive which offers superior acceleration and improved handling. The wheel base is also lower and longer to offer enhanced comfort for yourself and passengers. As we said, the new Toyota Mirai is impressive and truly an eye-catching ride. However, we're still not sure if it will arrive to Toyota of Clermont. The second generation model will likely drum up the necessary enthusiasm for this vehicle, but the infrastructure needed for fueling and logistical commuting will likely take some time to come to fruition. For now, the best way to achieve your dreams of driving a Toyota Mirai (without having to pack up and move to a different city) is by staying up to date on the latest hydrogen fuel technology news and always advocating for it to be provided in your area. If you have questions about hydrogen fuel cell vehicles like the Toyota Mirai or want to get behind the wheel of a different alternative fuel vehicle like one of our hybrids, visit Toyota of Clermont today at 16851 State Road 50 or shop our inventory online today.

car parts

Car parts: 10 you should know as a car owner

Does the sight of a light in your dash coming on make you overly apprehensive? Do you dread your routine auto service appointments because you never know how much it'll cost you to get back on the road? If so, you may be due for a new mechanic, first of all. Having a trusted relationship with your auto service provider can make those routine checkups a lot less frightening. However, it may also help to have some base knowledge of what goes on under the hood of your ride. Toyota of Clermont is here to help with ALL of your auto service and car parts needs, and we sat down with our knowledgeable techs to create a quick list of some of the most common car parts you should know about. Check it out below. You should know these 10 car parts #1: Mass airflow sensor: Your mass airflow sensor is a critical car part for performance. It gauges how much air is being pulled into the engine so the corresponding proper amount of fuel can be mixed with it. This air/fuel mixture is ignited to get your engine up and running, so you want the mass airflow sensor to be working at all times. #2: Shock absorbers: Shock absorbers help to keep you and your passengers comfortable inside the cabin of your Clermont Toyota. They absorb shock from the road (like when you're on rough terrain or hit a pothole) so you're not bouncing around on the car's springs the entire time. #3: Muffler: The muffler helps to keep your drive time quieter by doing just what it sounds like - muffling the noise from the engine. This car part keeps things much more peaceful for you, your passengers, and everyone around you. #4: A/C compressor: Your A/C compressor is responsible for ensuring that your car's A/C is working properly (a critical car part here in Clermont). If your A/C kicks out, be sure to have our Clermont auto service tech check this part. #5: Heater core: Conversely, this car part keeps your cabin warm when you need the heat on (not very often in Clermont). It's located behind your dashboard and can be tricky to get to, so repairing it is probably best left to the experts. #6: Camshaft: Your Clermont Toyota's camshaft is the car part that's crucial in opening and closing the valves in your engine. They open to let fuel and air in and let exhaust gases out, so if this part isn't working, you're going to have major performance problems. #7: Windshield wiper motor: The windshield wiper motor ensures that your wipers are working when you need it most on your Clermont Toyota. #8: Ignition coil: This car part sends voltage to the spark plugs to help them spark. In turn, this spark causes the internal combustion your engine needs to get started. #9: Axle or CV shaft: The axle or CV shaft sends power from your differential to either your front wheels or rear wheels (depending on whether your Clermont Toyota is front-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive). These car parts are encased in rubber, which can wear out over time and need to be replaced. #10: Power window switch: If you have power windows in your car - which nowadays, you probably do - you have a power window switch responsible for getting the windows up and down. It can wear out as dirt and dust work their way into it or just from excessive use. Toyota of Clermont has answers to all of your car parts questions Have questions? Need help with car parts or auto service? Visit Toyota of Clermont today at 16851 State Road 50, just west of the Florida Turnpike.

Clermont Toyota Land Cruiser for sale

The End of an Era: Toyota Land Cruiser

For generations, the Toyota Land Cruiser has been a staple of Toyota’s lineup. This once rugged off-roader has seen every evolution and rendition under the sun and is now one of the most luxurious models we have here at Toyota of Clermont. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and the sun is setting for the Land Cruiser. We at Toyota of Clermont are sad to see this heritage heavy model depart, but we’re here to discuss the recent news. Check it out right here! It’s Time to Say Goodbye to a Legend The Toyota Land Cruiser is one of North America’s longest running nameplates and one of the most original Toyota models on the Clermont lineup. There have been many rumors concerning the next steps for the legendary off-roader. We recently reported rumors that the Toyota Land Cruiser would be ditching the frills and luxury options for something more off-roading centric. While this idea had many fans (and us) thrilled as it likely meant the Land Cruiser would be approaching a more agreeable price point, it seems those hopes and dreams have been quashed. A report from Motor Authority details that an anonymous dealership employee disclosed that the Toyota Land Cruiser would not be renewed for another model year and will not be retuning to Toyota of Clermont in the foreseeable future. This news comes as Toyota unveiled a few new features for the 2021 Land Cruiser and continued the Heritage Edition from the previous model year. But like with all rumors, you should take this news with a grain of salt. The Land Cruiser is one of Toyota’s longest running Clermont nameplates and there are several creative directions they can take with it. This model does still enjoy a substantial following among many off-roading circles. A main downfall of this model is the lack of good sales figures which many attribute to its very high price point. Toyota has not confirmed this report and have not confirmed any forward motion for the Cruiser as of this writing. So, in summation, who knows? Next Stages for the Toyota Land Cruiser While the report claims that the Clermont Land Cruiser will be ending its run in North America, that doesn’t mean it will be finished in other markets. More than likely the Land Cruiser will be upgraded to the 300-Series model in coming years. But what does that mean for the North American lineup? With the departure of the Toyota Land Cruiser, the Sequoia will reign as the largest vehicle on the lineup. An interesting point in the story is that the Lexus equivalent of the Land Cruiser, the Clermont LX, will still be produced in North America. Like we said, it’s hard to know what the future will hold so we suggest you enjoy the Land Cruiser as much as you can before it’s gone!   If you’re looking to get behind the wheel of a Toyota Land Cruiser today, visit us at Toyota of Clermont! You can shop our inventory online anytime or visit us at 16851 State Road 50 seven days a week.

daylight savings time

Prepare your car and yourself for daylight savings time to end

We're well into October of 2020 which means daylight savings time is about to end. Are you ready to fall back an hour just as November arrives? The time change can mean a lot more driving in the dark for some, as night usually starts to fall right around rush hour. Toyota of Clermont is here with tips from our auto service experts on how to prepare your car AND yourself for daylight savings time to end so you can hit the road safely no matter the time. Check it out. Toyota of Clermont's tips for dealing with daylight savings 1. Have your lighting - all of it - checked. Before daylight savings time ends, take the time to have your lighting systems both inside and out checked. Your headlights, taillights, turn signals, and hazard lights should all be in working (and excellent) condition so you have top visibility and also so other drivers on the road can clearly see your vehicle. You should also ensure that all interior lights and dash lights are in working order before you try driving at night. Remember, your headlights should be on from dusk until dawn. 2. Bring your car in for brake service and a tire inspection. You want your brakes and tires to be in excellent condition when you're driving at night, as you very well may be after daylight savings time ends. Have our Clermont auto service techs check your entire brake system over to ensure you can come to a safe stop, even if it's a sudden one. You'll also want them to check your tire tread to make sure you can gain proper traction, as well as inspect the overall condition of your car tires to ensure you're not prone to a blowout (because who wants to change a tire in the dark?). 3. Clean your windshield and windows, inside and out. Clean your car's windshield and windows thoroughly both inside and out before driving in the dark. Any dust or smudges will reflect headlights, which can make it difficult to see and impair your visibility in a big way. 4. Do away with all distractions while driving at night. You have to pay extra attention when behind the wheel at night. Animals tend to be more active at night and are more likely to cross your path, and you also won't be able to see issues on the road as soon as you would if it were daytime. Do away with all distractions, keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road, and focus on the road for the safety of you and everyone around you. 5. Take the time to let yourself adjust to the time change. We may fall back and gain an hour of sleep, but that also means you may stay up later than anticipated for a while (especially on Halloween). If you're fatigued, don't get behind the wheel! Driving while fatigued is just as bad as driving while intoxicated. Delay your drive time so you can rest up or at worst, pull over to a safe spot to take a nap. Prep your car at our Clermont auto service center today Have questions or need Toyota of Clermont to help you get your car ready for daylight savings time at our auto service center? Call us! We're open and waiting at (352) 404-7001 and you can stop by to see us at 16851 State Road 50, just west of the Florida Turnpike.

Clermont electric car for sale

Mistakes to Avoid When Buying an Electric Car

The automotive industry is one based strongly in consumer choice. Paint colors, engine type, model type, and more all factor into everyone's unique choice in what they drive. Today we have even more choices as drivers due to the introduction of electric cars. These vehicles run purely on batteries powered by electricity and they're pretty amazing. Unfortunately, Toyota's lineup is not host to an electric vehicle (yet). But, at Toyota of Clermont we're here to help you get into the ride you want, even an electric car. Here are few mistakes you should be careful of when shopping! Mistakes to Avoid When Shopping for an Electric Car 1) Ignoring Your Travel Distance Needs If you live in a city like Clermont, you're definitely used to having to drive many miles throughout the week. With your typical gasoline car it's important to take into account your travel distance so you know when you need to refill your tank. However, that's not the case with electric cars. Instead of a quick fill up, they require a lengthier charge time. Before shopping, make sure your vehicle of choice has a substantial driving range to get you where you need to go without having to charge frequently. 2) Forgetting About Tax Incentives With more exclusive technology comes a bit of a higher price tag. Clermont electric cars are often more expensive than their internal combustion counterparts. But, you can mitigate the cost by taking advantage of tax incentives. Many can qualify for a credit of up to $7,500 and even more if you have a charger installed on your property. 3) Not Considering Weather's Impact Just like extreme weather can have an affect on your gasoline powered car, the same is true for electric cars. In colder weather conditions the charge time for you car can be significantly and your battery can drain suddenly. In Clermont you may not have to worry about this issue, but you should consider this if you live in a colder area. 4) Failing to Consider Cargo Space For the minimalist, a small and compact electric car is a perfect option. But, many of us like to carry around cargo and electric cars are notorious for sporting less cargo space than gasoline vehicles. Many EVs position their batteries underneath the back seat or in the trunk area which can lead to a loss of space. Check out the dimensions of your chosen vehicle before buying! 5) Shopping Outside of Your Budget Clermont electric cars can be expensive and depending on the make and model you choose you can really drive up your price tag. The higher price tag usually means better performance, accessories, and driving range. But, you should keep your budget in mind always. Need help shopping for the right vehicle for you? Toyota may not have electric cars in its lineup (again, yet), but we do have a great selection of electrified vehicles that are sure to excite. Visiting a Clermont pumpkin patch is highly recommended when purchasing your crop. This way you can support a local business and stay safe outdoors and more easily socially distance. However, if you can't make your way to one, buying one from a grocery store is always a good option (Ina Garten vibes, right?). Bust Out Your Fall Decorations If you're stuck at the house with nothing to do, why not bring out your Halloween and fall themed decorations? This fall activity is perfect for staying safe and it's the perfect excuse for displaying your overly gory decorations and/or putting fall leaves on your coffee table. Many stores are still open and stocking Halloween decorations and if you plan to purchase any new decorations, make sure to wear a face covering and socially distance as well as you can. Make Baked Goods Baking is one of the funnest (and most stressful) things you can do without leaving the house and there are so many different recipes to try. If you're itching to eat pumpkin pie or make various types of cookies, this fall activity is definitely for you! Watch Fall and Halloween Movies For many of us, fall is the only time of the year we dive into the wide world of horror movies and the occasional airing of the "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown." To get into the fall spirit, come up with a list of fall and Halloween movies to watch to pass the time. This is also a perfect fall activity to do in conjunction with other activities like pumpkin carving, decorating, and baking. Have a Picnic Outdoorsy activities are perfect for the fall season in Clermont and they're very safe to boot. We recommend planning out a simple meal with sandwiches, salads, and other easy items and picking a good spot with ample shade and less crowding. Set up a blanket and enjoy the sunshine and (hopefully) cooler weather with this special fall activity.   This fall season is quite different from past years', but that doesn't mean you can't make the most of it! Try these fall activities we at Toyota of Clermont have recommended or think of your own. However, always make sure to stay safe with a proper face covering and social distance.
