Our Guide to Getting Into the Holiday Spirit

Thanksgiving is next week and that means the holiday season is right around the corner! It's about time to start consuming candy canes, putting up lights, and making baked goods. It's hard to resist the urge to get into the holiday spirit before Thanksgiving, trust us. If you're someone who's itching to get into the spirit of the season without going too overboard before December gets here, we've got your back! Toyota of Clermont has the perfect guide for you to get into the spirit of the season before it's completely acceptable. Getting Holiday Ready Without Going Overboard Start Getting Your Lights Out of Storage If your holiday lights are tucked away in the garage or attic or maybe locked away in a storage unit somewhere, you might want to start finding them. A good holiday celebrator wastes no time when it comes to decorating their house and you need to be ready as soon as Thanksgiving dinner is over. When you have some spare time, start to comb through your storage areas and find your decorations and lights so you're ready when December rolls around. Plan Out Your Holiday Recipes The holidays are the best time of the year for baking delicious treats like cookies, cakes, and everything in between. It's time to finally dive into all the cooking videos you've saved throughout the year and start compiling them. We recommend printing out your preferred recipes for easy reference and so you can easily refer to them later. After you've found your recipes, create a big list of ingredients and get ready to do some grocery shopping. Read Gift Catalogs There's no better time to catch up on the latest toys, clothes, and video games than the holiday season as you'll likely be purchasing several as gifts for others. To gear up for the season, start browsing through gift catalogs and guides and do plenty of research to make sure you're planning on purchasing the right and perfect gifts. Start Looking for a Tree If you're the type of holiday decorator that loves the smell of pine needles and likes to use a natural tree, it might be time to start looking. There's nothing more fun than enjoying the brisk weather and combing through tree after tree in search of the perfect one to bring into your home. With so many places selling trees during the holiday season, you'll definitely have your work cut out for you. Don't forget to coordinate your decorations and a general color scheme for your tree. Queue Up Your Holiday Movie Watchlist Holiday movies are easily one of the best parts of getting into the holiday spirit. As you'll likely be spending a great deal of time enjoying the cinema of the season, make sure to prep ahead of time by getting a watchlist or queue together. Ready for the holiday season already? Festive fun and cheer are just around the corner. Have fun preparing and enjoy the start of the holiday season!

4 signs you're due for a wheel alignment

Updated on February 16, 2026 Executive Summary Importance of Wheel Alignments: Wheel alignments help your car drive straight, handle properly, and keep you safe on the road. What Happens If You Don’t Address the Issue: Poor alignment can cause uneven tire wear, worse gas mileage, steering problems, and expensive repairs. Frequent Causes: Potholes, curbs, rough roads, and accidents can easily knock your wheels out of alignment. Frequency of Wheel Alignments: Most vehicles need a wheel alignment every 2–3 years — or sooner if you install new tires or notice issues. Common Indicators For Service Needed: Signs you need one include pulling to one side, uneven tire wear, a shaking steering wheel, or squealing tires. When it comes to routine car maintenance, most people are familiar with the basics. You know you should schedule routine oil changes and that it's necessary to have your tires rotated regularly. You might even know that you need to schedule brake service and battery checks on a routine basis, too. However, do you know when and why to schedule a wheel alignment? Wheel alignments are one of the most commonly overlooked auto services, yet they play a major role in how your vehicle handles, how long your tires last, and how safe your daily drive really is. Whether you're commuting around Clermont, heading into Orlando, or taking a longer Florida road trip, proper alignment helps ensure your vehicle performs the way it was designed to. We're here with facts straight from our Clermont Toyota service experts, so you know exactly when it's time to schedule this important maintenance. What Is a Wheel Alignment? Before you understand when and why you need to schedule a wheel alignment, you need to know what one is! This auto service is when our Clermont Toyota service techs make sure that all your tires and axles are pointing in the same direction - basically, they square everything up so your vehicle tracks straight down the road. During a wheel alignment, technicians carefully adjust angles such as camber, caster, and toe to match Toyota's factory specifications. They may also inspect certain suspension components and check to ensure your steering wheel is properly centered. Even small alignment issues can affect how your car drives, so precision is key. Why are wheel alignments so important? Without them, you can wear out your tires faster, reduce fuel efficiency, do damage to your axles and suspension, and even compromise your vehicle's ability to respond correctly in emergencies. Over time, driving with poor alignment can increase repair costs and shorten the lifespan of major components. That's why it's so important to get them on a routine basis... but what's a routine basis? Our Clermont auto service techs say every 2-3 years is generally a good rule of thumb unless you get into an accident, hit a curb or pothole, or install a new set of tires. When you give your car a new set of shoes, they need a wheel alignment before you get back out on the road to ensure even wear from day one. What Can Cause Your Wheels to Fall Out of Alignment? Wheel alignment issues don't always happen gradually. Everyday driving conditions around Central Florida can knock things out of place faster than you might expect. Hitting potholes, driving over uneven pavement, brushing curbs while parking, or even driving on rough construction zones can all affect your alignment. Minor collisions and worn suspension components can also contribute. That's why it's smart to stay alert for warning signs and schedule service as soon as something feels off. When Is It Time to Schedule This Auto Service? However, not everyone can wait 2-3 years before scheduling a wheel alignment. In fact, many drivers experience alignment issues much sooner. Here are 4 signs you need to call Toyota of Clermont's service center now to schedule an appointment: 1) Your Car Pulls to One Side Does it feel like your car is pulling against the steering wheel to the left or right? Or maybe when you briefly take your hands off the wheel, your ride drifts to one side instead of continuing in a straight line. This can make driving more tiring and less predictable, especially on highways. Both are clear signs you're due for a wheel alignment and need to get your car in ASAP. 2) Your Tires Are Wearing Unevenly Your tires should wear evenly, especially if you schedule routine Orlando tire rotations and keep them properly inflated. If you notice excessive wear on the inside or outside edges of your tires, it usually means things are out of whack when it comes to your wheels. Uneven wear can shorten tire life dramatically, costing you money sooner than expected. Our auto service techs can realign your wheels and help protect your tire investment. 3) Your Steering Wheel is Shaking If your steering wheel is shuddering or shaking while you're driving - and you're not on rough or off-road terrain - then it's time to plan a visit to our Toyota of Clermont service center. While shaking can sometimes be caused by tire balance issues, alignment problems are a common culprit and should be checked promptly. 4) Your Tires Are Making Squealing Noises Your tires shouldn't make odd squealing or squeaking noises during normal driving or turning. If they are, it's possible that things are misaligned when it comes to your wheels, causing excessive friction with the road. Let our techs explore what's going on so you can restore smooth, quiet driving and prevent further damage. Schedule Your Next Wheel Alignment Today! Need to schedule service? Don't ignore the signs - staying proactive with wheel alignment service can save you money, extend the life of your tires, and help keep you safe on the road. Call us today to schedule your appointment. Toyota of Clermont's service center is open seven days a week at 16851 State Road 50, just west of the Florida Turnpike. You can reach us at (352) 404-7001. Common FAQs for Wheel Alignments When is it time to replace tires? You should replace your tires when you notice clear signs of serious damage like tears, bulges, or sidewall failures. Other signs include if your tire regularly loses air pressure and can’t hold the proper PSI, or if the tread is too thin and fails the penny-test. Why is your steering wheel shaking? There can be various causes for your Toyota’s steering wheel to shake, such as unbalanced tires, wheel misalignment, brake problems, or a worn-out or damaged part. If you notice a shaking steering wheel, bring your car to our Toyota of Clermont Service Center. How is alignment different from balancing? Balancing evens out the weight around each wheel on your Toyota so it spins smoothly without vibration. Alignment adjusts the angle of your wheels so they sit perpendicular to the road and parallel to each other for proper handling.

Tips for Long Distance Car Buying

Shopping for a vehicle is both parts stressful and exciting. The thought of getting behind the wheel of a new ride is enough to make anyone excited, but a good shopper always does their homework before sinking the money and signing on the dotted line. Luckily, at Toyota of Clermont, you can take comfort in shopping with our expert vehicle specialists who make the process stress-free and easy. But, what are you to do if your dream ride is in a different state or a different country even? Long distance car buying can definitely make the process a bit complicated, but not to worry. We're here with some helpful tips to make the process easier! Making Long Distance Car Buying Easier Before we dive into how to best go about purchasing a long distance Clermont Toyota, it's important to understand that the process will be more expensive than purchasing a car through conventional means. 1) Do Your Homework! We can't emphasize this step enough. Purchasing a vehicle is a big financial decision that shouldn't be taken lightly so it makes sense to have researched your ideal vehicle before spending your hard earned money on it. If you plan on committing to a long distance car buying process, you need to be extra careful and do your research even more so as you probably won't be able to take a test drive or see your Clermont Toyota vehicle of choice until it arrives in your driveway. 2) Make Sure it Meets Safety and Fuel Standards for Your State and the U.S. Buying a vehicle between states can get complicated when it comes to the legalities of your particular state and the U.S. in general. Some states have different fuel-efficiency standards and or vehicle view obstruction laws that could prevent you from driving your ride once you have it. Long distance car buying a vehicle from a different country can get even more dicey as it needs to comply with vehicle regulations and laws according the U.S. Many vehicles sold internationally meet these standards, but you just might fall in love with a Clermont Toyota vehicle that doesn't. 3) Figure Out How to Get it Here After you've riddled out the legalities and rules behind long distance car buying, it's time to figure out how you're going to bring your Clermont Toyota ride home. We all hate shipping costs, it's true. But, shipping a car is very expensive. During your budgeting process, make sure to account for a few thousand more in shipping costs. Don't forget to also have some extra cash set aside in the event that your vehicle has any unexpected issues with its engineering or body shape.   Still thinking of diving into long distance car buying? The process can get messy, but we're always here to help answer your questions. Toyota of Clermont is also here with an excellent selection of new rides that we think you'll love! Shop our inventory online or visit us at 16851 State Road 50 seven days a week!

Thanksgiving dinner hacks

8 Thanksgiving hacks for your holiday

Turkey Day is coming! Are you ready for a day of family, fun, and food? As enjoyable as Thanksgiving can be, we here at Toyota of Clermont know it can also be stressful (especially if you're hosting the holiday). That's why we've gathered some hacks to help make your celebration easier and more stress-free than ever before. Check it out! Use these hacks to take the stress out of your celebration Hack #1: Plan a menu and make a shopping list. Plan your menu well before the holiday, deciding what you'll make and what you'll assign to other friends and family in attendance. Stick to the menu firmly once it's made - don't be tempted to change things - and make a shopping list based off of it. And one more word to the wise... don't leave shopping until the day before Thanksgiving because the stores will be crazy. Hack #2: Do the math when it comes to the bird. Do you know how long you'll have to thaw your turkey or how long it needs to be in the oven? Do your calculations ahead of time so you're not stressed. Typically, if you thaw your turkey in a cold fridge you need 24 hours of thaw time per 5 lbs. If you thaw it in cold water, you need 30 minutes per pound. When it comes to cooking, you should plan on around 20 minutes in the oven per pound of bird. Hack #3: Bake ahead of time - like, way ahead of time. Did you know you don't have to do everything the day before and morning of? Pies - specifically, pumpkin, pecan, and sweet potato - can be baked up to a month ahead of the holiday and frozen until the day before. Find out which dishes you can easily freeze and store until you get closer to Turkey Day to save yourself time and hassle. Hack #4: Put your slow cooker to work. Save room on the stove and in the oven by putting your slow cooker to work. Dishes like mashed potatoes and stuffing will hold well and won't dry out on the warm setting in your slow cooker, freeing up both time and space for you. Hack #5: Freeze and grate your butter. If you have a dish that requires butter, freeze a stick and grate it into the recipe. It's much easier than chopping or melting butter. Hack #6: Don't bother basting the turkey. A lot of people think basting the turkey is necessary to ensure it's nice and juicy... but it's not. Basting really doesn't do much except make the temperature of the oven fluctuate as you open and close the door, so don't bother. If you're worried about the turkey being moist, consider brining it before you bake it. Hack #7: Boil your potatoes before you peel them. Boiling your potatoes for 15 minutes makes the skins slide right off - no need to break out the peeler for your mashed potatoes. Hack #8: Delegate and don't do things last minute. Delegate, delegate, delegate. Assign friends and family to bring their favorite dishes, put the dishwashers on notice, and have a handful of people show up early to help you set up. It'll make the day much less stressful! Happy Thanksgiving from Toyota of Clermont! From our Clermont Toyota family to yours, happy holidays and happy eating!

Toyota of Clermont service

Toyota of Clermont answers common car care questions

When it comes to car care, you probably have questions. Most people do unless they've mastered exactly what goes on under the hood. We get a lot of questions here at our Clermont Toyota service center and we always do our best to ensure we educate our customers so they can feel confident about car care. Here are 5 of the most common we hear and answers straight from our Clermont auto service techs. What should you know when it comes to car care? 1) Can I switch back and forth between conventional and synthetic motor oil? Absolutely - unless your car REQUIRES synthetic oil. There are perks to both types of motor oil so you can switch back and forth between the two as you see fit unless your car demands synthetic. In that case, don't try to use conventional or you could seriously damage it. 2) Will premium gasoline improve my car's fuel efficiency? Nope! You don't need to use premium gasoline unless your car calls for it (which you can find out in your owner's manual). Putting it in your car won't improve performance or fuel efficiency. In fact, using premium gasoline in a car that doesn't require it will do nothing but cost you more money at the fuel pump. 3) I need a new timing belt - can I put off this repair? Don't. Your timing belt is essential to your car's performance and keeps everything running as it should under the hood. If it breaks, you can do very costly and even irreparable damage to your car's engine. Our Clermont auto service techs encourage you to take care of this repair immediately once the need has been diagnosed. 4) Should I switch out my all-season tires in the winter? It depends. If you live here in Florida where we never see snow or ice, then you can keep your all-season tires on all year long and not worry about it. However, if you live in or travel to more northern climates with lots of snow, ice, and winter weather conditions, our auto service techs recommend that you consider swapping your all-season tires out for winter tires specially designed for that type of driving. 5) Who should I listen to first - the instrument panel, my mechanic, or my owner's manual? You should always listen to your instrument panel first - those pesky dashboard lights illuminate for a reason. Next up is your mechanic; when they make a recommendation for your car's auto service or repairs, they do it for a reason. They've gotten up close and personal with your ride and their inspection can give you a diagnosis and course of remedy. Finally, use your owner's manual as a last resort when it comes to car care and repairs as it doesn't take all factors into consideration when doling out information.
