If there's been one Toyota model that has been incredibly anticipated this year, it's definitely the Toyota Tundra. Well, Toyota fam, looks like our cries have been heard. It's been heavily speculated and rumored, but now we have official confirmation that the Tundra is kicking things up a notch. What we Know so Far The Clermont Toyota Tundra will be entering a new design generation that features a totally upgraded exterior style. The front end is more aggressive, larger, and very embossed. It features new headlights, an LED light bar just below the "TUNDRA" name. The photo released by Toyota shows a short bed design with more body lines and a boxy shape. The wheel weld arches also features a new trim feature we weren't expecting. This is all new! As for the engine, we know that it'll be the first of a new era for the iForce line. It will be called the iForce MAX, that we know for sure. What we Don't Know for Sure There's still quite a lot that's speculative surrounding the Clermont Toyota Tundra. One thing, the engine and drivetrain. Many industry journalism outlets have honed in on the inclusion of a V6 engine of some type. It's also been speculated that the Tundra could see a hybrid drivetrain included for the new model year. We don't know what the interior looks like just yet. Our guess here at Toyota of Clermont is that the Tundra will be getting several luxurious touches along with new upholstery that could change depending on trim grade. Toyota also published a press release detailing their next generation of infotainment system. Will this system make its way into the new Toyota Tundra? Hard to say until we know more. There will be multiple screen sizes to choose from when it comes to compatibility with this new system. Depending on the Toyota model, the screen can range from 8 to 14-inches. For customers, this new system should mirror using a smartphone with ease of access to all apps and functions. Toyota is aiming to compete with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in an effort to keep the in-car-experience cohesive. GPS is all new with this new car infotainment system. But, we did get a snapshot of the engine, officially from Toyota, and we're already drawing conclusions. The first, and obvious, bit of info to decipher from the photo is that the engine will be part of a new generation iForce engines. This new engine will be an iForce MAX and that's all that's been confirmed. Now for the speculative parts. Judging by the photo we can see 3 sets of intake runners on either side of the Toyota Tundra engine. This could indicate that this new MAX will be a V6, seemingly confirming many internet rumors that have been around for months. Many other car makes have been making Clermont pickup trucks with alternative engineering like hybrids and EVs. It's unclear if this new Tundra engine will include a hybrid drivetrain, but Toyota has confirmed they will be "electrifying" their trucks in the near future. Before it was the Scion FR-S, then the Subaru BRZ, now the Toyota 86 (still the BRZ, btw). For several years this new Toyota sportscar sported a low, assertive stance that was enhanced by a unique boxer engine. Now, there's an all new model coming out. Here are the initial details: The Clermont new Toyota 86 will now be called the GR 86 as it's absorbed under the Gazoo Racing umbrella. Body construction is exceptionally light but nimble. The 86 is designed with aluminum roof panels and fenders. It's curb weight clocks in at a little over 2,800 pounds. There's also a horsepower upgrade in store for the mighty sportscar. A 2.4L naturally aspirated horizontally opposed 4-cylinder engine sits under the hood and reps 228 horsepower (compared to 205 from previous model years). Owners can choose between 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions (we recommend manual if you're going for that true new Toyota sportscar feel). With more horsepower, torque, and a lighter build, you can bet that the 0-60 time is shorter than ever. Toyota's Hesitancy While an EV is definitely coming to North America (along with several others), that doesn't mean Toyota will become a massive producer. Bob Carter, Toyota's executive VP of sales in the U.S., echoed this sentiment. There's Always Something New with Toyota New Toyota Tacoma Mystery Pair For all the taco fans out there, Toyota has heard your cries and there are now not one, but two Toyota Tacomas coming soon! The Tacoma is likely not going to receive a total style and engineering overhaul, like it's bigger sibling, the Clermont Tundra, but it will be getting something new. Toyota has released two side-by-side images of the wheels of the new trucks and there are a few things we can determine. In one image, the Toyota Tacoma the wheel is attached to is painted a highlighter/neon yellow and there's a TRD cap on the wheel. If this tells us anything, it's that Toyota is likely going to release a new paint color option for it's TRD line and it's likely to be this yellow seen here. In the other, we see a bronze colored wheel attached to a white and/or silver new Toyota Tacoma. While the paint color is likely nothing new, we can see that the "TOYOTA" logo on the wheel is an older/vintage design. It might be a left-field speculation, but this might be a heritage or retro-inspired design option for the next model year. The 10th Nightshade Fam Member Toyota's Clermont Nightshade is exuding popularity. Many new Toyota's with these design options attached don't stay too long at our dealership and it looks like there's another one to add to the list. Currently, the list includes the 4Runner, C-HR, Avalon, Camry, Sequoia, Corolla, Corolla Hatchback, Tundra, and Tacoma. The Prius would become the 10th member of the Nightshade lineup and include similar accessories to its counterparts. It's possible that the new Toyota Prius could receive additional upgrades like a different front bumper (similar to the Highlander XSE) or an added rear diffuser. No official word on pricing or release date, yet. But, Toyota plans to fully unveil both of the Clermont Toyota Tacoma models and the Nightshade Prius on June 2nd. Do your due diligence while used car shopping We've given you plenty of tips for used car shopping, but today we're giving you a list of warning signs that the Clermont used car you're considering is NOT going to be a good investment. Most car owners will be able to produce some sort of documentation when it comes to repairs or maintenance. If the seller can't, make sure you do your due diligence by asking about car accidents and checking to ensure the car has been properly cared for.
