It's been a while since Toyota has committed to a fully electric vehicle. The last one was a collaboration with Tesla (yes, that Tesla) and became the Clermont Toyota RAV4 EV that was produced until 2014. This RAV4 was unique in the fact it achieved a 113-mile range, got an MPGe range of 78 city and 74 highway, and had a top speed of 85 mph. Electric powered vehicles have come a long way since then. They're powered solely on rechargeable lithium-ion battery technology and can achieve mileage and speed numbers no one thought possible for something that runs on electricity. While Toyota has stuck mainly to hybrids over the years, the automotive giant has finally unveiled a new electric vehicle. Make Way for a More Electrifying Future People who are fans of Toyota are familiar with the Toyota brand know of the many hybrid vehicle options available to them. These vehicles use both internal combustion and electrically powered engineering components to power and propel themselves. It's expected to be introduced first to the China market before making its way to the U.S. and will be introduced with an identical twin model called the IZOA. Both vehicles are expected to run on a fully-electric drivetrain system, rather than just being hybrid versions of the C-HR. It's unknown what the mileage range will be for these Clermont Toyota electric vehicles or what specific drivetrain they'll have, whether front or all-wheel drive. The internal combustion Toyota C-HR doesn't come equipped with an all-wheel drivetrain currently but, with some reengineering for this new EV model, it can be done. Because the new Toyota Prius features an AWDe drivetrain it's likely this new C-HR will feature something similar. The new Clermont Toyota electric vehicle C-HR is wrapped in mystery and more will be revealed soon as 2019 comes to a close. When it'll make its way to the U.S. is unknown, but an EV from Toyota would be a welcomed new vehicle to the expanding lineup we love. It also gets an EPA estimated 26 mpg city and 35 mpg highway. There Toyota RAV4 has a hybrid model as well that features more power and better fuel efficiency. The Honda CR-V uses a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that gets 184 horsepower and 180 lb./ft. of torque. While there's no hybrid option, there is a downsized 1.5-liter engine version that's also turbo-charged and gets 190 horsepower and 179 lb./ft. of torque. The Verdict: Between these two Clermont Toyota crossover SUVs, the Toyota RAV4 takes the cake. Interior and Technology Cabin comfort and tech are important things to consider when shopping for a new Clermont Toyota crossover SUV, so let's see how the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V stack up. The Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V both feature streamlined interior designs that allow for optimal access to features for both the passengers and driver. The Verdict: When it comes to space, the CR-V takes the cake. But, when it comes to tech and convenience, it's the Clermont Toyota RAV4 crossover SUV that wins! Safety The Clermont Toyota RAV4 crossover SUV features standard stability and traction control systems (called the Star Safety System) along with an advanced airbag system and Toyota Safety Sense P. The safety suite features systems for pre-collision, lane departure warnings, automatic high beams, and dynamic cruise control. This all comes standard, regardless of trim level. The Honda CR-V features standard traction control and stability systems as well and an advanced airbag system. However, the CR-V doesn't include systems like lane-keeping assist, auto high beams, and adaptive cruise control across all trim levels. The Verdict: If you're looking for the highest level of safety without paying extra for it, the Toyota RAV4 is your car! Pricing Now for the most important number of your decision, what's the price? While transitioning to a Clermont Toyota hatchback, the wheelbase of this new model will be longer than its predecessor, the Toyota Yaris Liftback, and feature 15.9 cu. ft. of trunk space, nearly as large as a typical sedan. The hexagonal front grille from the Clermont Toyota Yaris Liftback will be retained for this hatchback model and will feature LED headlights and incorporated daytime running lights will be available on the XLE trim level. The new Toyota Yaris Liftback will include several premium standard features like 16-inch alloy wheels, Smart Key entry with Push Button Start, integrated fog lights, a first aid kit, illuminated vanity mirrors, and a chrome tailpipe. 7-inch touchscreen display with access to Features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, voice recognition, Bluetooth connectivity, and standard navigation capability. The Clermont Toyota XLE trim level includes premium upgrades like leatherette seats, automatic climate control, automatic LED headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a leather trimmed steering wheel and shift knob. Hybrid trucks - yes or no? Lots of people have opinions about it.
