It's what's in a name that can make people remember and Toyota is one automotive brand that truly embodies this idea. Thinking of all the names that Toyota has branded their vehicles with makes you wonder how they came up with them and what they mean. You might know a few as part of your far-reaching trivia knowledge goes, but do you know them all? Toyota of Clermont is here with a quick guide on the various new Toyota model names, what they mean, and a little of how they came to be. What's in a Name, Shakespeare? Toyota's various monikers carry some incredible names with interesting (maybe even, tragic?) backstories. Toyota Camry One of Toyota's most recognizable and most sold world cars, the Clermont new Toyota Camry's name is derived from the Japanese word for crown. Toyota has had other models on its lineup at one point or another invoking the word crown. The Camry's name is such to suggest that it's royalty among the Toyota lineup. Toyota Sequoia If you've ever wandered through the redwood forest in California, you'd probably catch vibes of the larger than life Toyota SUV. The Sequoia is aptly named after the towering redwood trees of Sequoia National Forest. Toyota RAV4 Despite the third generation Toyota RAV4 on sale in Mexico being the only time this new Toyota model ever had 4WD, the RAV4 gets its name as a acronym for Recreational Active Vehicle with 4WD. Toyota Land Cruiser The Toyota Land Cruiser has a fascinating history beginning as a Jeep clone bred for battlefield commuting and mountain climbing and it's named as such. The Clermont Land Cruiser name comes from the idea that you can traverse or cruise any land with the famous Toyota SUV. Toyota Highlander While you might think this Toyota model is named after a particular 80s movie franchise (it's not), the Clermont new Toyota Highlander is actually named after the Scottish Highlands. Toyota Corolla With a name originated from quite an unexpected place, the Toyota Corolla is unique and Toyota's best-selling model. It's name actually comes from the central portion of a flower bud or the area the petals surround. It's to describe the compact beauty of this Clermont new Toyota car. Toyota Supra While Latin might be a dead language, the Toyota Supra is no longer. In fact, the name comes from a Latin prefix that means above, to surpass, and go beyond. Makes sense for a car that was made to go fast. Toyota 86 This new Toyota model's name is far more than a numerical reference. Well, it's actually a numerical reference, but that's not the point. The Toyota 86's name is derived from the model codes for the Corolla Levin and Sprinter Trueno. The Trueno was actually canonized by a famous anime and manga series called Initial D. Toyota Tacoma If you've ever ventured into the Pacific Northwest you likely paid a visit to the mountain that the new Toyota Tacoma is named after. The Clermont Toyota is named after Mt Rainier's other name, Tacoma. Are you ready to check out these new Toyota models and more? It's official! Halloween is tomorrow and you're probably still left wondering what to do with this year being such a strange one. Halloween is a truly special night of fright and candy consumption but with a pandemic still going on (in fact, cases are up exponentially), safety is what must take precedence this year. Traditional trick or treating will be much more difficult to pull off safely and most health experts advise that you don't this year. So, what are you left to do to celebrate Halloween this year? Lucky for you, Toyota of Clermont is here with some spooky ideas so you can celebrate Halloween! It's Halloween! But Safer While traditional trick or treating might be off the table for many families this year, that doesn't mean you can't still celebrate the spookiest night of the year. Here are a few out-of-the-box ideas you can try to stay in the spirit and enjoy the holiday. Scary Movie Marathon Horror movies are always best when viewed during the spookiest season of the year and Halloween night is the perfect opportunity for a marathon! Come up with a list of the scariest or diet scary movies and start binging. Grab some snacks, beverages, candy, and find a comfy spot on the couch and be prepared to get scared. Halloween Bake Off Usually the holiday season is prime time for baking, but Halloween night is the perfect time to make your living room smell like cookies and baked pumpkin seeds. Get started by researching fall and Halloween themed recipes online and make a list of ingredients you need. Grab your supplies and start baking some delicious treats to enjoy. For some added fun we recommend queueing up a Halloween playlist to jam to while you're mixing and baking. Halloween Happy Hour For the adults out there, Halloween is always a perfect opportunity for happy hour at home or in conjunction with trick or treating in your neighborhood. But, with trick or treating not likely happening, why not dive into a happy hour at home? Grab ingredients and recipes for unique Halloween themed cocktails and go nuts! As always, drink responsibly and make sure to never get behind the wheel if you're intoxicated. In-House Trick or Treating The thrill of Halloween night is always wandering from house to house, getting a variety of candy, and seeing just how cool all the decorated houses in your neighborhood are. But, with trick or treating likely not happening outdoors this year, it's time to bring the trick or treating indoors. Decorate the rooms in your home with different horror themes and items and set out different members of your family to hand out candy. Get creative and make this experience unique and special, especially for your little ones who are likely sad to be missing out on Halloween night's time old tradition. Stay Spooky and Stay Safe! Halloween night is the time of parties and trick or treating, but this year is different. Safety should be your number one priority. While outdoor trick or treating likely won't happen in many places, you can still leave candy outside your door for trick or treaters who wander by. Leave hand sanitizer and other sanitary materials outside to keep visitors safe. Happy Halloween everyone and be safe!

While we may be in uncertain and unprecedented times, we can still rely on the seasons to come through and deliver those warm fuzzy feelings that remind us of holidays and cold weather (unless you live in Clermont in which case the latter doesn't exist). More than likely you're sitting in your Halloween costume right now and itching to do a fall activity to really get into the spirit of the season. Lucky for you, Toyota of Clermont is here with a list of fall activities you can do to get into the feel of the season. Keep in mind you should do all of these activities while wearing a face covering and properly social distancing. Fall Activities You Can Do in Clermont Carve a Pumpkin There's nothing that screams "fall" more than carving a pumpkin. To get into the feeling of fall you should start by picking out an intricate design and then figuring out the size you need your pumpkin to be. Visiting a Clermont pumpkin patch is highly recommended when purchasing your crop. This way you can support a local business and stay safe outdoors and more easily socially distance. However, if you can't make your way to one, buying one from a grocery store is always a good option (Ina Garten vibes, right?). Bust Out Your Fall Decorations If you're stuck at the house with nothing to do, why not bring out your Halloween and fall themed decorations? This fall activity is perfect for staying safe and it's the perfect excuse for displaying your overly gory decorations and/or putting fall leaves on your coffee table. Many stores are still open and stocking Halloween decorations and if you plan to purchase any new decorations, make sure to wear a face covering and socially distance as well as you can. Make Baked Goods Baking is one of the funnest (and most stressful) things you can do without leaving the house and there are so many different recipes to try. If you're itching to eat pumpkin pie or make various types of cookies, this fall activity is definitely for you! Watch Fall and Halloween Movies For many of us, fall is the only time of the year we dive into the wide world of horror movies and the occasional airing of the "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown." To get into the fall spirit, come up with a list of fall and Halloween movies to watch to pass the time. This is also a perfect fall activity to do in conjunction with other activities like pumpkin carving, decorating, and baking. Have a Picnic Outdoorsy activities are perfect for the fall season in Clermont and they're very safe to boot. We recommend planning out a simple meal with sandwiches, salads, and other easy items and picking a good spot with ample shade and less crowding. Set up a blanket and enjoy the sunshine and (hopefully) cooler weather with this special fall activity.   This fall season is quite different from past years', but that doesn't mean you can't make the most of it! Try these fall activities we at Toyota of Clermont have recommended or think of your own. However, always make sure to stay safe with a proper face covering and social distance.

By now you've likely heard that Florida is gradually reopening with the hope of resuming normalcy. While this is well-intended, the process is going to be slow, touch and go, and full of adjustments. What we're trying to say is that you're likely going to be spending the weekend in your house needing something to do. For us fans of Toyota and the automotive industry in general, we couldn't think of a better way to spend the weekend than watching our favorite car movies. There are many out there, but only a few make Toyota of Clermont's cut. Check out our list and start watching! The Best Car Movies to Watch This Weekend Drive (2011) While many know Ryan Gosling for The Notebook, Drive presents an interesting take on a car movie. Gosling's character is an unnamed stunt-driver who doubles as a getaway wheelman for hire. The Driver is tasked with transportation for a job that endangers him and everyone else involved. While it sounds like a typical heisty movie, it's the interesting blend of several decades of culture and the great performance of its cast that make it a memorable and highly watchable car movie. Cars How can you make a list of car movies and not include a movie that's characters are literally all cars? Cars is an excellent movie for people of all ages that follows the adventure of a race car, Lightning McQueen, as he falls down on his luck and seeks to make his way back to race track. If you're looking for lighthearted fun, cute characters, and something the whole family can watch, this one's for you! Transformers Series While it's technically a movie about aliens and not really about cars, we at Toyota of Clermont think it still qualifies. The first in the series features Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox befriending Bumblebee, an Autobot disguised as a truly iconic Chevy Camaro, and engaging in an interplanetary battle between the Autobots and Decepticons. From there the cars get cooler and the story even more ludicrous. The most recent installment, Bumblebee, is an excellent origin story with great performances from the cast and a nice vintage vibe (it's arguably our favorite one). Baby Driver There's nothing better than a perfect pairing of music and cars and Baby Driver nails it. Ansel Elgort stars as a music-obsessed driver under hire from a mob boss. Surreal car chases, impressive driving, and a good mix of comedy, romance, and action make this an excellent choice. Fast and Furious Series Who doesn't know about the Fast and Furious movies? With 8 mainline movies, a spin-off with Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, and a 9th mainline movie coming next year, this is a series you can get lost in. The early iterations popularized street racing and tuner subcultures while providing some of the best car eye-candy of any modern movie. Fast Five took the series to new heights with more action, Bond-esque plots, and crazy stunt work and the rest is history from there. If you want to get invested in a series that outdoes itself with every subsequent movie, sit down and watch these movies. Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) While you won't see any of the vehicles featured in Mad Max on any road, unless you live in a dystopian future where gasoline is a currency, but it features some of the craziest contraptions you'll ever see on screen. This series was originally released in 1979 and starred Mel Gibson. The 2015 remake stars Tom Hardy as the lead and ups the ante with special effects and action. Definitely check this out if you're looking for a bit of gritty apocalyptic overtones with your car movie. Being stuck inside doesn't have to be boring. Check out these movies, make some popcorn, and kick back and enjoy the ride!

As we enter into another week of social distancing and staying at home, you're probably running out of things to do. Most of us have burned through our Netflix queues, played the latest video games, or ran through our YouTube interests by now. While we have a great selection of content on YouTube that you should definitely check out, you're probably a little tired of using your phones and TVs. If you're scraping the barrel looking for things to do, you're in luck! Toyota of Clermont is here with a short list of things to try to stay entertained while staying safe at home. Screen-less Entertainment To Do at Home Play Board Games It's not often that you have an excuse to bust out Monopoly, Jenga, and other board games, but now's the perfect time! Board games are the perfect way to bring your family together for classic fun with a hint of intense rivalry. Try playing as many of them as you have, start a tournament, or remix the rules of each game for added fun. Bake Something Baking and cooking are always great ways to pass the time while staying at home and social distancing, but it can be difficult if you're missing ingredients and can't go to the store. So, try cooking or baking something with staples you have in your pantry at the moment. If you have eggs, bread, sugar, and cinnamon, try making minimalist french toast. Or, if you have frozen fruit, milk, and ice, make a smoothie. Peruse your pantry and see what you can make on the fly. Go For a Run Exercise caution when going outdoors by making sure to maintain a minimum six foot distance away from the nearest person. Going for a run is not only great exercise, it's also very therapeutic and a great way to blow off some steam amidst the cabin fever. However, be careful and maintain social distancing, even when outdoors. Wash Your Car You know we had to do it to them. We at Toyota of Clermont are all about car care, so naturally we think car care while staying at home is important. Take this time to check your fluids, oil, and give your ride a thorough wash both inside and out. We have several guides on vehicle washing and sanitizing that you should check out before you get started! Fort Building This one may sound a bit childish, but who doesn't love a good old fashioned pillow and blanket fort? Assemble all the spare bedding you have available and start building the pillow fort of your dreams. After you've completed your comfy masterpiece, take pleasure in destroying it and starting over again. Get Organized Believe it or not, organizing your belongings is not only fun but it's also a great time to see what you need/want and what you can donate to someone in need. Go through your clothes, belongings, and other items you have and start organizing them. You'll have better access to them in the future and you can decide which things you want to keep or let go of. We know it's easy to get cabin fever while social distancing, but it's important that you and others stay safe. Have fun with these activities and stay healthy!
