The Great Pumpkin Paddle Combine the best of Florida with Halloween in this unique paddle boarding event at Grills Lakeside on Orange Blossom Trail. Bring a jack-o-lantern, real or fake, to this special Clermont Halloween event. Rent a paddle board, grab a light, and take your pumpkin friend out for a spin on the water. This event starts at 6 pm on Friday, October 23rd. Zoo Zoo Bash Get ready for some scary cool fun at the Central Florida Zoo this weekend and next. Bring your little ones to trick or treat, see the animals, and enjoy the spooky season in style. This Halloween event near Clermont starts at 9 am, make sure to bring a mask, and reserve your spot ahead of time. Haunted Hike in the Garden Exercise your body and exorcise your soul with a haunted hike through Mead Botanical Garden. Guests can hike on a 40 minute course in moonlight while listening to spooky tails. You can also watch vintage scary movies and purchase adult beverages and snacks. Fall Activities You Can Do in Clermont Carve a Pumpkin There's nothing that screams "fall" more than carving a pumpkin. To get into the feeling of fall you should start by picking out an intricate design and then figuring out the size you need your pumpkin to be. Visiting a Clermont pumpkin patch is highly recommended when purchasing your crop. This way you can support a local business and stay safe outdoors and more easily socially distance. By now you've likely heard that Florida is gradually reopening with the hope of resuming normalcy. While this is well-intended, the process is going to be slow, touch and go, and full of adjustments. What we're trying to say is that you're likely going to be spending the weekend in your house needing something to do. For us fans of Toyota and the automotive industry in general, we couldn't think of a better way to spend the weekend than watching our favorite car movies. There are many out there, but only a few make Toyota of Clermont's cut. Check out our list and start watching! The Best Car Movies to Watch This Weekend Drive (2011) While many know Ryan Gosling for The Notebook, Drive presents an interesting take on a car movie. Gosling's character is an unnamed stunt-driver who doubles as a getaway wheelman for hire. The Driver is tasked with transportation for a job that endangers him and everyone else involved. While it sounds like a typical heisty movie, it's the interesting blend of several decades of culture and the great performance of its cast that make it a memorable and highly watchable car movie. Cars How can you make a list of car movies and not include a movie that's characters are literally all cars? Cars is an excellent movie for people of all ages that follows the adventure of a race car, Lightning McQueen, as he falls down on his luck and seeks to make his way back to race track. If you're looking for lighthearted fun, cute characters, and something the whole family can watch, this one's for you! Transformers Series While it's technically a movie about aliens and not really about cars, we at Toyota of Clermont think it still qualifies. The first in the series features Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox befriending Bumblebee, an Autobot disguised as a truly iconic Chevy Camaro, and engaging in an interplanetary battle between the Autobots and Decepticons. From there the cars get cooler and the story even more ludicrous. The most recent installment, Bumblebee, is an excellent origin story with great performances from the cast and a nice vintage vibe (it's arguably our favorite one). Baby Driver There's nothing better than a perfect pairing of music and cars and Baby Driver nails it. Ansel Elgort stars as a music-obsessed driver under hire from a mob boss. Surreal car chases, impressive driving, and a good mix of comedy, romance, and action make this an excellent choice. Fast and Furious Series Who doesn't know about the Fast and Furious movies? With 8 mainline movies, a spin-off with Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, and a 9th mainline movie coming next year, this is a series you can get lost in. The early iterations popularized street racing and tuner subcultures while providing some of the best car eye-candy of any modern movie. Fast Five took the series to new heights with more action, Bond-esque plots, and crazy stunt work and the rest is history from there. If you want to get invested in a series that outdoes itself with every subsequent movie, sit down and watch these movies. Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) While you won't see any of the vehicles featured in Mad Max on any road, unless you live in a dystopian future where gasoline is a currency, but it features some of the craziest contraptions you'll ever see on screen. This series was originally released in 1979 and starred Mel Gibson. The 2015 remake stars Tom Hardy as the lead and ups the ante with special effects and action. Definitely check this out if you're looking for a bit of gritty apocalyptic overtones with your car movie. Being stuck inside doesn't have to be boring. Check out these movies, make some popcorn, and kick back and enjoy the ride!

As we enter into another week of social distancing and staying at home, you're probably running out of things to do. Most of us have burned through our Netflix queues, played the latest video games, or ran through our YouTube interests by now. While we have a great selection of content on YouTube that you should definitely check out, you're probably a little tired of using your phones and TVs. If you're scraping the barrel looking for things to do, you're in luck! Toyota of Clermont is here with a short list of things to try to stay entertained while staying safe at home. Screen-less Entertainment To Do at Home Play Board Games It's not often that you have an excuse to bust out Monopoly, Jenga, and other board games, but now's the perfect time! Board games are the perfect way to bring your family together for classic fun with a hint of intense rivalry. Try playing as many of them as you have, start a tournament, or remix the rules of each game for added fun. Bake Something Baking and cooking are always great ways to pass the time while staying at home and social distancing, but it can be difficult if you're missing ingredients and can't go to the store. So, try cooking or baking something with staples you have in your pantry at the moment. If you have eggs, bread, sugar, and cinnamon, try making minimalist french toast. Or, if you have frozen fruit, milk, and ice, make a smoothie. Peruse your pantry and see what you can make on the fly. Go For a Run Exercise caution when going outdoors by making sure to maintain a minimum six foot distance away from the nearest person. Going for a run is not only great exercise, it's also very therapeutic and a great way to blow off some steam amidst the cabin fever. However, be careful and maintain social distancing, even when outdoors. Wash Your Car You know we had to do it to them. Take this time to check your fluids, oil, and give your ride a thorough wash both inside and out. Fort Building This one may sound a bit childish, but who doesn't love a good old fashioned pillow and blanket fort? Assemble all the spare bedding you have available and start building the pillow fort of your dreams. After you've completed your comfy masterpiece, take pleasure in destroying it and starting over again. Get Organized Believe it or not, organizing your belongings is not only fun but it's also a great time to see what you need/want and what you can donate to someone in need. Go through your clothes, belongings, and other items you have and start organizing them. You'll have better access to them in the future and you can decide which things you want to keep or let go of.
