Today, amazing new Toyota cars. Tomorrow, the moon!

Taking to the streets with stylish, powerful, and tech savvy new rides is cool and all, but Toyota is aiming their sights higher. Like, the moon higher. While electric and hydrogen powered vehicles and self-driving cars will likely be the next great advancements in the automotive industry here on Earth, space tourism is a viable and future industry that several companies are investing heavily in. Knowing Toyota and their enthusiasmhttps://dealer26422.dealeron.com/toyota-corolla-hatchback-inventory.html for the future, it’s no surprise that they’re planning for big things. Toyota of Clermont is here with the latest details on the Toyota moon buggy. Taking over the roads on Earth and the moon While we’ve had rovers and shuttles and rockets that can be reused, a giant moon buggy is definitely something new. This new Clermont Toyota project is estimated to come to fruition by 2029 and will use hydrogen fuel-cell and solar power cells for its operation. This will be a collaborative effort with Japan’s space agency, JAXA, and initial plans on this Clermont Toyota moon buggy have been revealed. Conceptually, the vehicle will be 20 feet long by 17 feet wide and be able to house two astronauts. Here are some additional details we have at Toyota of Clermont: The moon buggy is set to be launched in 2029 and begin major lunar exploration in the 2030s. The cabin size will be about 140 square feet and pressurized to allow astronauts to navigate it without the need of space suits. With use of both hydrogen fuel cell and solar electric power, this lunar vehicle is estimated to have a cruising range of 6,200 miles on a single charge. The range is a significant improvement over previous lunar rovers that could only travel roughly 22 miles before needing to refuel each night. This moon buggy will act as both a mode of transportation and a base with room to eat and sleep. This will help astronauts to venture further by creating a mobile base rather than a remote one that explorers will have to return to periodically. When the Clermont Toyota moon buggy is ready to launch, it will be sent to the moon first and await the arrival of astronauts and then meet them at a predetermined destination. The collaboration between Toyota and JAXA has the ultimate goal of making the lunar surface hospitable for human life. Don't attempt DIY car maintenance without these 6 tools

Are you thinking about taking up a DIY car maintenance routine to keep your car in excellent running shape? Good on you - not many people are confident enough to tackle what's going on under the hood. If you're about to give it a shot, make sure you're well-versed in how the parts you're maintaining work, and be sure to give us a call at Toyota of Clermont with any questions or concerns you may have. Also, make sure you have the right tools. You don't want to attempt DIY car maintenance without the six tools listed below. What tools should you own for DIY car maintenance? Tool 1: Extension bars for socket wrenches You may have to get deep down into the engine to fix or maintain something and sometimes, a regular socket wrench just won't cut it. Invest in extension bars for your wrench set so you have extra length to work with in those tough-to-reach situations. Tool 2: Stubby screwdrivers Similarly, sometimes you're working in tight spots where regular-sized tools won't fit. A stubby screwdriver can be your new best friend in these situations - it's short enough to fit but still gives you the control you need. Tool 3: A headlamp and a work light You need the best lighting possible when you're working on your vehicle, especially if you're doing car maintenance. Invest in a good work light to illuminate your workspace, but our Clermont Toyota service techs also recommend buying a headlamp. This will help you see better down in the engine bay but you won't have to hold a flashlight - you can stay hands-free. Tool 4: A multi-meter A multi-meter can be used for a lot of things - basically, it measures currents, power levels, and resistance of various parts. However, you can also use this car maintenance tool to test your car battery's voltage to see if you need to replace it soon (which can save you time AND money in the long-run). Tool 5: A high-quality non-hydraulic jack If you're working under your car at all or performing car maintenance on your tires, you need a high-quality jack to hoist your car into the air. Our Clermont auto service techs also recommend steering clear of a hydraulic jack - they're more likely to fail and pose a big safety issue. Tool 6: An air compressor An air compressor can really come in handy when you want to fill your tires or blow out the vents of your A/C when you're detailing your ride. However, you can also use an air compressor to run your power tools, and it'll give you a consistent and efficient performance to make your car maintenance easy breezy. Let Toyota of Clermont point you in the right direction And the best news? Toyota of Clermont can help you find all of these parts and more. Just ask our parts team! If we can't order it for you, we can at least point you in the direction. We can also answer any and all of your car maintenance questions. Give us a call at (352) 404-7001 today. We're open seven days a week for your convenience.

The dangers of running into potholes

Living in Clermont and driving in the Orlando area, you’re no stranger to construction and poorly maintained roads. It seems like every corner you turn and every road you drive on is riddled with debris, uneven surfaces, and, the worst part, potholes! If you’ve ever hit one, you know that these pesky road depressions can spell the end for several important parts of your vehicle. If you’re looking for better ways to avoid pothole damage, you’re in luck! Toyota of Clermont is here with an easy guide on how to avoid these road hazards and what kind of damage you could be looking at if you have the misfortune of running into one. Why is pothole damage so bad? A pro tip you should always follow while driving is to avoid hitting potholes at all costs. However, we know that’s not always the case. However, if you see one coming and you can make a clean getaway without putting any other drivers and yourself in danger, then you should definitely do it. But what if you wind up running into a pothole? Unfortunately, the damage your Clermont Toyota vehicle could sustain could wind up being severe. Here are a few of the ways you could see pothole damage on your car: Alignment: Hitting a pothole at a high enough speed could do a number on your Clermont Toyota car’s wheel alignment. Signs of this type of pothole damage could be in the form of your car drifting on the road, pulling to one side, or a vibration sensation in your steering wheel. Tires: Needless to say, your tires take quite a lot of punishment from the road, especially when it comes to pothole damage. Hitting a pothole can cause your tire to go flat, it could bend the rim of your wheel, break the seal between your tire and the wheel, and misalign your tire and cause uneven wear over time. Suspension: Your Clermont Toyota car’s suspension system is the main reason behind your smooth rides, easy turns, and the reason why the body of your car doesn’t rub up against the tires. Pothole damage can affect your car drastically and cause your vehicle to slouch in certain places, have difficulty with turns, and cause vibrations in the seat and steering wheel. Fixing pothole damage Unfortunately, potholes are a dime a dozen in the Clermont and Orlando areas between all the construction and general condition of the roads. In the event that you run into one, make sure to visit our auto service department here at Toyota of Clermont! Our auto service techs can repair the damages of pothole damage at an affordable price. We can realign your wheels, get you a brand-new set of tires that will last, and repair your vehicle’s suspension issues to get you back on the road with peace of mind. We’re open seven days a week and located at 16851 State Road 50, just off the Florida Turnpike.

Your spring break road trip checklist

Thinking about getting out of town for a spring break road trip? You're not the only one - people all across the country take to the highway to spend their week off finding fun in the sun. It's the perfect time of year to hit the road and find some adventure. However, if your car isn't ready for highway travel you won't get very far. Toyota of Clermont is here to help - we have a spring break road trip checklist to get your car prepped for the long miles ahead. Check it out! Don't head out on the open road before you run through this spring break road trip checklist #1: Check your car's battery from top to bottom. Does it look like it's in good physical condition? Do you see any signs of rusts or leaks? Is it swelling abnormally? You should also have our Clermont auto service techs test your battery's voltage to see if you're due for a replacement BEFORE you head out to the open highway. #2: Inspect your car's tires. How do your car's tires look? Make sure they're free from any damage, like bulges and blisters, punctures or tears, or sidewall separation. You also want to check the PSI to ensure they're inflated to the right level, and check your tread depth to ensure it's going to give you the traction that you need. And don't forget to schedule your tire rotation if you're due for one - Toyota of Clermont can take care of it for you. #3: Maintain your headlights. Toyota of Clermont concept

Will we ever see hybrid Toyota Tacomas and Tundras on the road?

Every day we see new advancements in the automotive industry. From new infotainment systems, new navigation, safety features, and cleaner technology. Now, we have hybrid model options for nearly all types of Clermont Toyota vehicle. What started as the Toyota Prius in 1997 has since evolved into the Toyota Camry, RAV4, Highlander, and Corolla all having hybrid models. But, what about a hybrid pickup truck? Luckily, Toyota may be manufacturing hybrid versions of the Clermont Toyota Tacoma and Tundra and they may arrive to the dealership sooner than you think! Check out the details on these upcoming hybrid pickup trucks right here. The road so far A hybrid pickup truck seems like a far-off pipe dream to most. How would you be able to use a partial electric engine to obtain the power large internal combustion engines are able to with the bodies of trucks? To see how Toyota plans to get there, we have to take a trip down memory lane to 1997 with the release of the iconic Clermont Toyota Prius. This hybrid sedan changed the face of fuel-efficiency forever and its technology has been incorporated into several other Toyota models. But, while we have hybrid SUVs and sedans, we haven’t seen a hybrid pickup truck come to fruition yet. The idea of incorporating an electric motor into a truck so dependent on diesel and gasoline, like a pickup truck, but you may be surprised to learn the power and capability a Clermont hybrid Toyota can pack. For an example on power, the 2019 Toyota RAV4 can flex 203 horsepower with its stock internal combustion engine while the hybrid version can produce 219 horsepower. Not only that, but hybrid vehicles are also being engineered with more capable features than ever before. While it’s possible for a hybrid pickup truck to achieve the necessary power and performance, it may be sometime before we see a vehicle like this at Toyota of Clermont. Currently, plans for a hybrid pickup truck are being kept under wraps. We’re not entirely sure when we’ll see a vehicle like this at the dealership, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t happen. Toyota has already tried their hand at a hybrid pickup truck, but it never came to fruition as an actual production car. In 2007, Toyota released their A-BAT concept, a subcompact truck that used Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive system with a four-cylinder engine. While small and as high performance as a Clermont Toyota Tundra, this vehicle was designed to seat four passengers and have extra exterior cargo space. This concept was the first Toyota vehicle to use an extendable mid-gate. Find your next green ride at Toyota of Clermont A hybrid pickup truck will be at the dealership before we know it.
