Toyota Unveils a New Electric Vehicle: A C-HR

It's been a while since Toyota has committed to a fully electric vehicle. The last one was a collaboration with Tesla (yes, that Tesla) and became the Clermont Toyota RAV4 EV that was produced until 2014. This RAV4 was unique in the fact it achieved a 113-mile range, got an MPGe range of 78 city and 74 highway, and had a top speed of 85 mph. Electric powered vehicles have come a long way since then. They're powered solely on rechargeable lithium-ion battery technology and can achieve mileage and speed numbers no one thought possible for something that runs on electricity. While Toyota has stuck mainly to hybrids over the years, the automotive giant has finally unveiled a new electric vehicle. Toyota of Clermont is here with all the details on this new production vehicle and what you can expect to see from Toyota's electric powered adventure! Make Way for a More Electrifying Future People who are fans of Toyota are familiar with the Toyota brand know of the many hybrid vehicle options available to them. Since the Prius hit the automotive market in 1997, Toyota has offered hybrid versions of the Clermont Toyota RAV4, Corolla, Highlander, Camry, and Avalon. These vehicles use both internal combustion and electrically powered engineering components to power and propel themselves. In some cases, the internal combustion engine is used to charge the battery components while the battery powers the wheels or the electrical components assist the internal combustion engine to ease some of the power generation. Toyota also offers the Mirai which uses electric vehicle based components, but instead of using gasoline it uses hydrogen fuel. Coming soon, hopefully to Toyota of Clermont, is a fully-electric version of the Toyota C-HR! This unique diamond-shaped crossover SUV is slated to arrive sometime in 2020 and not too much is known about the vehicle's specifications. It's expected to be introduced first to the China market before making its way to the U.S. and will be introduced with an identical twin model called the IZOA. Both vehicles are expected to run on a fully-electric drivetrain system, rather than just being hybrid versions of the C-HR. It's unknown what the mileage range will be for these Clermont Toyota electric vehicles or what specific drivetrain they'll have, whether front or all-wheel drive. The internal combustion Toyota C-HR doesn't come equipped with an all-wheel drivetrain currently but, with some reengineering for this new EV model, it can be done. Because the new Toyota Prius features an AWDe drivetrain it's likely this new C-HR will feature something similar. The new Clermont Toyota electric vehicle C-HR is wrapped in mystery and more will be revealed soon as 2019 comes to a close. When it'll make its way to the U.S. is unknown, but an EV from Toyota would be a welcomed new vehicle to the expanding lineup we love. Toyota aims to sell 5.5 million electrified vehicles by 2030 (these being hybrids, plug-ins, electric, and hydrogen fuel-cell) in an effort to reduce CO2 emissions exponentially. Buying a car from Toyota of Clermont.

Buying a New or Used Car. Which is the Better Choice?

When it comes to buying a car, the options are truly limitless. You can choose between a variety of car manufacturers, like Toyota, then you have all the models in the make's lineup, and then you have trim level options to choose from, and then you can choose between new and used options for your next car. It can be overwhelming sifting through all the various options you have at your disposal during the vehicle buying process and researching each one to see which Clermont Toyota vehicle is just right for you. After you've narrowed down your options, it's time to decide if you want to go new or used. There are several benefits to purchasing either vehicle type, but it can get confusing and difficult to decide. To make things easy, Toyota of Clermont's here with a guide on buying a car. Buying a New Car Pros Buying a car that's in new condition almost guarantees that there will be little to no engineering issues that can happen with used vehicles. There should be little to no cosmetic defects on the vehicle both on the exterior and in the interior. Purchasing a used car oftentimes means purchasing a vehicle that's a year or two older and you may be missing out on new technology that's been recently released. Buying a car that's new often affords drivers with new technology features. Buying a new Clermont Toyota car means you can take advantage of different warranties in the event that something goes wrong. Depending on when you buy a used car and how many miles are on the engine, you may find that it's out of warranty. Cons New cars depreciate quickly (unless you purchase a vehicle like the Clermont Toyota FJ Cruiser). This means that $30,000 vehicle you purchased will quickly lose value. Depending on how much you drive it and any damage you accumulate over time, you may lose half of the vehicle's value. You're going to be upside down when buying a car that's in new condition. Unless the vehicle accumulates value or retains it well over time, you're likely going to wind up upside down right from the moment you sign on the dotted line because of the various fees associated with buying a car. Buying a Used Car Pros The sticker price of a used car is significantly lower than that of a new car as the depreciation of it has likely come and gone. Buying a car in used condition is very safe today. They're very reliable, heavily tested, and reputable car dealerships (like Toyota of Clermont) sell used cars of all types. Because you're paying less for the vehicle, you can afford to go a bit bigger on the price of your used vehicle. Cons You could wind up purchasing a lemon. This means the vehicle has been through the driving ringer and likely won't perform well unless major repairs are completely. There may be some light cosmetic damages. The technology may be older. If you're buying a car with a higher amount of miles you may need to repair the vehicle to get it back up and running. Buying a car can get complicated, but Toyota of Clermont is here to help! auto repairs

Expensive auto repairs and how to avoid them: Clermont Toyota tips

Auto repairs are inevitable when you own a vehicle. After all, a car is a financial investment and it costs money to maintain and keep in good condition. However, although some repairs are bound to be necessary, the more expensive ones can typically be avoided by giving your car a little TLC and sticking to a routine maintenance schedule (which our Clermont auto service techs are happy to set for you). Today we're talking some of the more expensive auto repairs and how you can do your best to avoid ever needing them. Don't let these auto repairs happen to you Repair #1: Blown head gasket A blown head gasket is actually a more common auto repair than you might think and it can spell big trouble for your car's engine - we're talking overheating, white smoke pouring out, and oil and/or coolant sprays inside the engine bay. Even worse, it can run you close to $2,000 to repair. Don't let it happen to you! Your best bet is to stick to a routine car care schedule where you give your coolant attention on a regular basis to ensure it's filled and clean at all times. Repair #2: Mass airflow sensor replacement Your engine depends on air circulating through it to work. The two main parts in charge of this are the air filter and the mass airflow sensor, and they're obviously linked. So when your air filter doesn't get replaced often enough, it can cause an issue with your mass airflow sensor that leads to you needing a replacement. This auto repair usually costs around $400... ouch. Instead of setting yourself up for it, just change your air filter on a routine basis to ensure clean air gets where it needs to go in the engine. Repair #3: Broken air conditioner compressor No one - we repeat, no one - wants to deal with summer in Florida with a busted air conditioner in their car. But if your A/C compressor gives out, you're either shelling out close to $500 or spending your summer sweaty. You can keep adding freon to the system for a quick fix, but it won't last long and that expense can add up over time. Prevent this auto repair by scheduling Clermont Toyota service for your car's A/C system on a routine basis and letting our techs check it out so they can fix problems before they become big issues. Repair #4: Brake line replacement A brake line may seem like a small part in the grand scheme of things and it is - but when it needs to be replaced, it can cost you big bucks. We're talking close to $1,000. Plus, it's affecting your car's braking system, which means you're putting your safety at risk. Don't let this auto repair come to fruition; instead, schedule routine Clermont brake service so our techs can stop issues before they start. Toyota of Clermont can help you stick to a service schedule Don't let your wallet take a hit - head off these repairs before they're needed! Let our Clermont car service techs get you on a schedule today and come in for a free multi-point inspection. We're conveniently located at 16851 State Road 50, just off the Florida Turnpike, and you can schedule service at (352) 404-7001.

Toyota electric car technology available in Clermont.

Exploring Electric Car Technology

The auto industry is one that's always marked with change in technology, consumer preferences, and trends. Vehicles change time and time again and new technology is introduced to meet the demands of the consumer or to respond to a specific event in time. For example, Toyota first engineered the BJ (what we know now as the Toyota Land Cruiser) in response to the Korean War in 1950. Today, vehicles that use renewable energy are being developed at a rapid pace in response to climate change and environmental harm. While Toyota has been big on hybrid and hydrogen powered vehicles, electric car technology is being massively explored today. If you're curious about this new form of vehicle powering technology, Toyota of Clermont is here to help make things simple! Toyota of Clermont's Guide to Electric Car Technology Commonly referred to as EV, electric vehicles have come a long way over time and work to reduce harmful emissions entering the environment by using electric powered engines and drivetrains. These vehicles don't directly emit carbon based pollutants into the atmosphere and use large-capacity lithium ion Clermont Toyota batteries. These batteries can be recharged through various means like solar power, motion, and direct plug-in. Here are a few key facts to know about these types of vehicles: Clermont Toyota electric car technology vehicles are inherently more efficient than their internal combustion counterparts and use features like regenerative braking to recover energy that's typically lost during braking. Lithium-Ion batteries are very portable and come in various shapes and sizes, but their size often determines their energy capacity. Larger batteries make for larger amounts of energy, but large batteries often make engineering difficult. While internal combustion Clermont Toyota vehicles pose a fire hazard after an accident, electric car technology vehicles also pose fire risks due to the volatility of lithium-ion batteries. Electric car technology equipped vehicles often have public-use electrical plugs that drivers can use to charge their vehicles during their ventures away from home. These vehicles can reach large mileage ranges and the technology continues to advance for better charge times and mileage ranges. In some states you can apply for a tax grant for the purchase of an electric car technology equipped Clermont Toyota vehicle and, while the up-front cost of one these vehicles is higher than an internal-combustion equipped vehicle, you will save quite a lot of money over time driving a vehicle like this. Currently, Toyota doesn't offer a fully-electric vehicle in its lineup. But, in a collaboration with Tesla back in 1997, there was a Toyota RAV4 EV that ran strictly on electric power and had a driving range of 95 miles. Today Toyota does offer electric car technology enhanced models like the Clermont Toyota Prius Prime and various hybrid models that use partially electric engineering to cut back on pollution and up fuel-efficiency grades. After you’ve chosen the right blade for your vehicle, here are some tips on installing and maintaining your blades for a maximum lifespan: Remembering to check and replace your blades may often skip your mind, but one way to alleviate that problem is by keeping tabs on your wiper look during your monthly car maintenance checks. When in doubt, check your blades every six months and change them once every year. Make sure to install your wiper blades in pairs. It could be quite troublesome to remember how old each individual blade is at the end of every year. Replace them at the same time for optimal performance. Gently wipe your car blades with a squeegee to remove any loose dirt, oil or debris from the rubber to increase longevity. To install your wipers, follow the instructions provided on the back of the packaging. When in doubt, contact the Toyota of Clermont auto service team for help! Streaky, noisy, grimey blades? The new Prius Prime and Plug-In Toyota Hybrid Technology

When it comes to enhancing fuel-efficiency and adding more environmentally friendly engineering features, the Toyota Prius has always been a consistent frontrunner. Throughout its history, this Toyota hybrid has produced several off-shoot models that service the individual needs of drivers everywhere. One particular model that takes the already amazing fuel-efficiency of the Toyota Prius to the next level is the Clermont Toyota Prius Prime plug-in hybrid. This Toyota hybrid uses plug-in technology to charge the electric drivetrain and allow for fully electric (EV) driving modes that save you gas and help reduce the production of harmful emissions. If you're unfamiliar with how plug-in Toyota hybrids work or what the unique features of the Prius Prime are, don't worry! Toyota of Clermont is here with a helpful guide on this unique type of vehicle and what you can expect to find is this new model year Prius. What is a Plug-In Hybrid? Hybrid vehicles come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and with different feature options to maximize the overall driving experience. In Toyota's lineup, the Clermont Toyota Prius began the wave of hybrid technology and the lineup has since evolved to include hybrid options for the Highlander, Camry, Corolla, RAV4, and more! Vehicles that use a Toyota hybrid drivetrain use an electrical system in conjunction with an internal combustion engine to reduce the overall use of gasoline power and create less harmful emissions. The electric drivetrain is typically small and most vehicles don't use EV specific modes. Plug-in Toyota hybrids use a different type of electrical system that involves the use of a rechargeable battery that benefits from being plugged in. Here are a few features unique to plug-in hybrids: Vehicles of this type recharge their electrical drivetrains by use of a typical electrical outlet or a public quick charger. This charges the battery pack directly and stores excess power to be used while driving. Unlike most typical hybrids, Clermont Toyota plug-in hybrids can run on a full EV mode that uses strictly electrical power for a short time before resorting to using the smaller internal combustion engine. The New Toyota Prius Prime The Clermont Toyota hybrid Prius Prime is designed to maximize the fuel efficient features of the original Prius by incorporating a larger storage capacity battery that charges using plug-in technology. Here are a few of the amazing features that come with this stylish new hybrid: Six paint color options like Magnetic Gray Metallic, Titanium Glow, Classic Silver Metallic, Blizzard Pearl, Hypersonic Red, and Blue Magnetism. A starting MSRP of $27, 350 and three trim levels including Plus, Premium, and Advanced. A different exterior styling than the regular Clermont Toyota Prius by using more pronounced lines and sporty accents. A total estimated driving range of 640 miles and 133 MPGe (electric MPG) with 54 combined MPG. Plus an estimated 25-mile EV range.
